^I was always taught that with deep puncture wounds, leave the weapon alone. The penetrating weapon keeps it from bleeding. If you pull it out, you open the wound and they start bleeding out. But I'm not a doctor. Just what I recall from medic training.

Also, medics can sterilize the prongs before pulling them out through the guys ass to prevent more infection.
And a local anesthetic is better than biting down on a bullet or tree branch.
