^A baby skunk is a "kit," so it's pretty close. Many years ago a Japanese friend was visiting me in the States and after coming home from a walk through the fields one evening informed me that she was surprised at how slow skunks are- "I easily caught up with it and poked it with a stick, because I wanted to know how bad the farts really are, but it wouldn't fart." She got lucky, but I wonder how many hapless victims of Pepe Le Pew cartoons there in the world.
