That second Sears Optical commercial reminds me of something that happened to me not long ago in Thailand.
I was in a department store waiting by the side of an aisle while my wife was looking at some dresses, and a short Thai lady came up to me and tugged at the material on my shirt a little. When I looked down, I realized she thought I was a store dummy. About the same time, she realized I was real.
I started laughing as I have a good sense of the absurd. She was too embarrassed to laugh at first but smiled wryly after she saw I was laughing.
