A gathering of key members {and assorted others} of The Communist Party of Thailand. A couple of faces you might recognize........the paradox and ever-present angst and paranoia that intensely existed throughout the 1950's, 1960's, and well into the 1970's as the successive fascist, military, and loyalist governments continued the hunt for 'commies' within the Kingdom leading to hundreds of thousands of innocent deaths {blatant boming and raids} in the mountainous and countryside regions. In reality, the true numbers of the CPT were never a serious threat to the Siam/Thailand establishment, as they're continued obsessions became a fabricated clarion for unification for decades. The traditional Communist strongholds were principally located in and around the northern reaches of Pethabun, Chaiyaphum, Nong Bua Lamphu, and Chiang Rai provinces....with a worthy contingency represented strongly farther south in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. Leading into the 70's, some have suggested that hardliners blame the CPT for the insurrections {and subsequent massacres} of 1973 and 1976, which truely can't be justified nor evidence found. As the early and mid-seventies saw a number of 'civil uprisings' from a student, intellectual, and labour union based protest.
