Lazy git, you've only cycled 3/4 of the island of Britain. Didn't even think to include Northern Ireland, did ya? A proper cyclist would be cycling the length of the British Empire. Well, except the bits were you'd have to swim, like from the fawklands.

Anyway, unless you were ringing that bicycle bell like a deranged madman all day I fail to see how your mouse button clicking finger is too tired to post a few piccies.

Buddy of mine lives in Polmont, and I regularly order cycling goods by email from an excellent shop in Falkirk, G W Smith (Falkirk bikes bicyles cycles repairs). My buddy carries the goods over each December for his annual pilgrimage staying with me in Phuket.

He was certainly a young offender back in the day that's for sure. However, the only 'inside' that he sees these days is the bar of the Black Bull (http://www.blackbullpolmont.co.uk/).

Since I have you here - any good recommendations for places to stay about 70-ish miles north of Annan? I was gonna ride to Edinburgh but think accommodation will be lacking due to the festival...

You'll find that most towns/villages in Scotland have small hotels/Inns, and of course it depends on what route you're taking. You should be around the Central Region at the end of today, probably around the Glasgow/Edinburgh corridor area. Not particularly a tourist area until you get further north of Stirling and into Perthshire for example.

A few places on this website:

Ah yes, but they generally capture lone Sassenach cyclists, keep them in their dungeons and cross breed them with wild haggis.

You don't wanna be leaving your bike outside unattended, and that includes stepping 10ft away to get it in the same picture as the establishment.

Remarkable progress slap. Scotland looks smaller on a UK map than it is for real. You will need a midge hat the further north you go.

Just back from my local bike shop where I got new brake pads. Whilst there my wife phoned to order som tam from the small stall in front of the shop. Couldn't resist photos for Slap, purely for nostalgia of course.......

Same thing happens with the USA vs. Canada. Canada always looks smaller than it is. Because of map projection.
