Red wine, never again.
Why are fookers getting on the Christmas car bonnet the day after bonfire night.

Fireball in the belly. Gastritis. Don’t know what I did to bring this on myself but it sucks!
FFS!!!! Lots of stupid bureaucratic rules all over the world, most especially in Thailand. This one takes the cake.
Contract renewal time for my wife at her government school. She has to go to the regional office to sign. As with the last time she signed the contract, she has to have a guarantor who holds government rank sign a contract agreeing to accept responsibility if the contractor absconds with money etc. That in itself is a stupid rule (if the contractor steals, it's a police matter, and what coud a teacher steal anyway?). New rule (or an old rule now beig enforced); Contractor needs to have government employee with rank sign AND the guarantor's spouse must sign also.
In my wife's case, her guarantor is happy to sign, her guarantor's husband is happy to co-sign, but guarantor's MiL doesn't let her son sign any contracts. Thus no guarantor, thus no contract.
WTF kind of rule is this? For a job contract to teach English at a small, poor regional school, the teacher has to find not only a ranking government employee willing to go guarantor, but the guarantor's spouse has to vouch as well...and the teacher has to hope no members of the guarantor's family or inlaws don't have a phobia for contracts.
FFFFFFF TIT.

Are you sure this 'rule' applies to all, or has Lulu been contacting & warning those involved?
I bet there's a rat or a jerk Luigi-ing a would be guarantor.
'Tis shocking. I Is shocked to the bone.
went into Sangkha post office with the letter - yes sir , would you like airmail ? 19 baht thanks - marvelous
bought a LED wall light to replace an old light fitting that had seen better days from homepro
opened it up and looked at the mounting rawl plugs for the size - no hab , so measured it up against the drillbits and proceeded
did the elekriks bit and then was screwing the thing onto the wall when I discovered that the screws in the pack would not fit very well down the coutersunk hole and were in fact well stuck against the wells
fark fark fark
I ended up having to bash the fcuking screws out with a hammer , and then went and got my own screws and rawl plugs to complete the job
you would think the screws that came with the unit would suit
new house - need water heaters, shop a round, found a nice looking store, nice looking display board of a dozen or so water heaters (different manufacturers) nice deal on Panasonic units, tell girl I need two, she walks over to the supply rack, finds a box with the correct model number - Empty, finds second box - Empty, third and final box - Empty. Plenty of stock of the overpriced units - no stock of anything economical or reasonable.
Bait and Switch in practice - illegal in the USA, Prevalent in Thailand
Remember the thread a while ago about the teacher who acted as guarantor for her students loans and got stuck with a big bill when some were not paid back?
Government oficers are very often asked to act as guarantors for all sorts of stuff. Lots of them are gunshy because of it.
I was humming along just nicely until I made the mistake of looking at the calendar to work out the number of days until we feck off for holiday.
Now I'm in perma-fucking-countdown-mode.
Traffic lights that serve no purpose other than to irrate drivers and slow traffic flow.
I don't remember the thread. Yes, a guarantor for money is not unreasonable and prospective guarantors should be wary of loan-paying abilities of the people they are vouching for. But this is a government office policy for a teacher's job. No money involved, no money handling involved, no expensive equipment involved in the execution of the teacher's duties.
And to require the spouse of the guarantor to co-sign also??? It boggles the mind.
A tangent issue is the requirement for a ranking government officer. For example, Mrs M's BiL is a cop, but he's only a sergeant. Not high enough rank. What this policy does is ensure anyone from peasant families can not progress. Old boys club locking unconnected (yet possibly talented and qualified) people out.
^ Didn't she need a guarantor when she first started the job?
And didn't you say the school was raided last year after Lulu tipped off immigration?

They should learn to slot their road jigsaws together so they don't warp to create a hazard for mosais. Saw another one go over yesterday, wasn't pretty.
Someone should wake up those folks at ThaiVisa.com.
Have asked to recover my password 3 times now and have had zilch response from them.
Even went to their "contact us" page with the same result.
This has been going on for 3 days now.
The wife (LAO) told me today that the thais will no longer accept her Lao driving licence whiledriving in thailand. The reason. Its not in English. Its in Lao and French as is mine. Apparently she can get it convert3d easily enough for the english segment. Makes me wonder if the thais have a room full of twats dreaming upnew rules. They seem to be pretty inventive
After a bit more discussion with her indoors it was finally revealed to me that while the lao and issan thai can understand each other the wife reckoned they both have tottaly different script written. It still doesnt explain why they need the english script under the Lao script. Most rural coppers ive dealt with couldnt read or speak english anyway. 200 baht and on yerway old son. . Doudbt any of this will stop the laos or thais being daft coonts on the road anyway?
