Extremely cold now here on the east coast,, but still a small bright break in the weather yesterday down at Walton on Naze

Another small oil sketch from along the road at Walton on Naze this week ,, just sooooo cold

The best thing about these Temu A4 size canvas panels is they are so cheap I can get the pleasure of my hobby painting them before I get shot of them and it costs me so very little

My best mate and his misses who are both battling cancer had to put their dog down this week , so I cobbled this together for them , acrylic on oil paper for quickness and drying , gonna give to them tommorow , bless em

The irony , after having very little success in selling for a long time now , I’ve began painting solely for fun on cardboard so I can chuck em away easily afterwards .
So yesterday I set myself a 45 min challenge to paint something seasonal in oil using a knife on a bit of cardboard .
Posted it on a couple of local groups and within an hour 2 people wanted to buy it ,, unreal ,, anyway I’m not accepting a penny for anything as unstable as cardboard , so the lady having it today is insisting on a charity donation bless her , at least a bit of good came out of it

Well 2026 is off to a great start today as soon as I finished this painting of a local pub here in Walton on Naze called The Tavern , the landlord messaged me thanking me for taking the time to paint his pub and then he snapped it up , no questions asked .

The Tavern Walton on Naze oil on mdf 14” by 8” , supplied in a beautiful larch frame I also made

A small 8” square deep edge box canvas only cost a £1 ,, so nice to enjoy painting it then easy to dispose of and probably including paint less than a couple of quid for an afternoons painting .
