    Work Permit advice

    Maybe TV poser but am on married visa
    Wish to head to residency
    Need to pay 3 yrs tax without a break
    Apparently bank interest non acceptable nor overseas investment income!
    Any experience advice warnings welcome

    So whats hassle free mode?
    Self employment
    Work for my wife as translator tho doubt would generate enough guaranteed pcm to reach the 40k? tax threshold ,
    Set up a new business preferably as asleeping partner
    There are no opportunities where I live for my skills which is technical interpretation and translation.
    I have tried to discuss this with the Labor Office who seem to feel I need 4 thais who know none of the languages to assist me !
    Perhaps I can do consultancy any ides from all you clever chaps on TD

    Have the rules changed? I don't recall it being a requirement of PR that you pay tax for 3 years but rather that you have a right of abode for 3 years. For example, I thought people on retirement visas, who had 3 years time in Thailand, could apply for PR?

    I was under the impression it was 3 years of tax and Work Permit.

    Be advised PR is limited to 100 persons per eligible country per annum so there's never any guarantees even if you can fulfil the criteria and qualify.
