Here's a CG video of the house, and what it should look like when finished.

Nice one splitlid, looking forward to this.

I have a friend who rents one in Hua hin. Looks pretty much the same, but his comes round as a full L shape. Is that a garden the bit on the bottom left of your plan?

Once the footings are dug, then they are compacted and a blinding layer of sand/cement is levelled off in the bottom, once dry this gives a clean and solid surface to work on.

Once the base is set and clean, the lines are put back up on the profiles and a marker is placed in the blinding cement where the lines cross. this is the center of the columns.
A block and brick retaining wall is built and the footing steel is placed in and then the column steel is placed in over the center of the mark, two more lines are put up, they are the outside of the column concrete and the column steel is manoeuvred within these lines. once centered everything is tied together and fixed into place.

All the footing and column steel is in place and centered,so its time to get CPAC in to pour the footing pad, these are then left overnight to harden.

Like a pair of vultures we circle around looking for other clueless building thread victims...

Based on the evidence so far it looks like your lot seem to know what they are doing.

    Damn...

Nice plan, I assume you made it yourself since it's in English? It seems you used Autodesk Revit?

You stated that the build was completed in December, but when did you start it?

It actually helps me a lot to understand my own build better by seeing how others have planned, built and dealt with problems. After going through many threads recently and also doing my own, I now feel that I'd be ready to start a build properly and do a half decent job.

This is an interesting pic. You can see that this is one big foundation foot! But, seems a perfectly reasonable way of building the foundations. It's very interesting seeing the different building techniques. I was looking at the bricks used in Spain for the corner sections (not foundations); they were massive and hollow concrete blocks, once in place rebar is put inside then it's filled with concrete - very solid for non-load bearing structures...

This house has a really nice holiday home design and feel to it; perfect for somewhere like HH.
    Cycling should be banned!!!

The drawings are done in ArchiCad, the build takes 6 months in total, however it was on go slow for a couple of months as I had something else to do.

hi Betty, yes there are many ways to skin a cat so to speak.
Norton- we do have one guy we call 'backhoe' we use him to dig holes where machines cannot reach.

the lines are put back up and transitioned onto the newly pours pads, these are where the columns are going to be put.

Excellent looking job there. Those footings are almost exactly like some of the ones at my place...only yours look bigger.

Here is a photo of one of mine....looks like exactly the same technique....except my guys had to dig the holes with tools from the eleventh century while your guys have a spiffy backhoe.... still a hole is a hole I suppose....

Look forward to the rest of the saga.... nice to compare holes in the meantime...

Cool. I presume you're going to knock that shed down and build a house instead?
