Well given that Apple is taking features from Android to put into its next release of iOS, I assume you aren't referring that that one.

And as for the last statement, anyone who refers to a "PC Tablet" is obviously completely fucked in the head anyway. I would imagine IRL Butters sits hunched over his mac in dark, wanking furiously over pictures of Steve Jobs. The dumb fuck.

Just proof that although Apple was first out of the gate with the concept (smart phones, tablets, etc), after a few years reign as the shizzle, they're already lagging behind and needing to take ideas from Android, whatever they are.

FaceNiff Makes it Easy to Hack Facebook From Android Smartphones

FaceNiff is an Android application that lets users sniff and intercept web session profiles over Wi-Fi networks, stealing other users’ credentials from services such as Facebook, Twitter and others. The app requires root access on the user’s Android smartphone, but other than that it’s fairly simple to use, which makes it perhaps even more dangerous than Firesheep, a Firefox extension that lets users hijack Facebook and Twitter sessions over Wi-Fi networks. FaceNiff also works on WPA-encrypted Wi-Fi networks, which Firesheep doesn’t support.
While we’re not suggesting that any of our readers should use the app to hack someone’s account (it might even be illegal depending where you live), the sheer fact that such an app exists and is very easy to use means that you should be extra cautious when connecting to public Wi-Fi networks.
Recently, we wrote about the necessity of using HTTPS, which offers a fair degree of protection against attacks such as those from FaceNiff and FireSheep. If you still haven’t switched to HTTPS connection on all your favorite web services which support it (both Facebook and Twitter have the option), we recommend you do so right now.
Besides Facebook and Twitter, the latest version of FaceNiff also works with YouTube, Amazon and Polish social network Nasza-Klasa.

Whatever you call them, I checked out the Acer stock today. Looks impressive, 10" tab for 17K THB running Android, and 19K for a Win7 model with a keyboard dock (theough I think you can just plug a USB keyboard into the Android model). Both had 1GB duo and fok all RAM.

Think I'll hold off if the first releases are this good. The hybrid tablet / laptop is on the way. So will Windows or Linux (Android) win in the touch screen market that is the future of computing?

I would think it depends on the hardware, but you can use a Bluetooth keyboard with the Galaxy Tab, so there's a workaround.

So the win7 dock looks pretty redundant then unless windows have a better touch screen os. Doubt it.

Why? It's designed for use when the Keyboard is plugged in, isn't it?

Even if Win 8 is the dogs bollocks, there will still be a dock. Touchscreens are entirely unsuitable for typing.

^ I mean for overall usage. Good touch screen interface that can also be used with a mouse and KB. So wadda ya reckon Barry, win8 will outdo Android in the touch / mouse / keyboard combined OS?

I disagree about touchscreens being unsuitable for typing. Using swype I can go about 50 wpm. Typing is about 80 so... Androis cannot match windows in the docking department?

    Who's Barry? What's Androis?

Sure you can type 50wpm, but if they're like that, what's the use?

As I said, keyboards can be had for all of the Android devices with Bluetooth. For some reason, on traditional PCs, Google's direction is ChromeOS.

Whereas they are diverging, Microsoft are converging.

Android app can 'hack' Facebook, Twitter | The Australian

FACEBOOK and Twitter users face a new security headache from an Android app that allows anyone to hack social media accounts at public WiFi spots.

The developer of the FaceNiff app, Bartosz Ponurkiewicz, says on his website that the app is for educational purposes only, and urges users not to install it if it is illegal in their country.

FaceNiff enables an Android smartphone to detect any unsecured Facebook or Twitter login made on the same WiFi network by a desktop or laptop using a standard web browser.

Winamp for Android 1.1 Comes with More Free Music

A new version of Winamp for Android is now available for download from the Android Market, with some new features and enhancements included into the mix, meant to provide users with an even better experience than before.

The new release comes with new features like Full CD Listening Party or an improved SHOUTcast, as well as with support for additional languages, and more.

All of these enhancements add to the previously introduced improvements, which included free downloads with Spinner's MP3 of the Day, among other.

The release notes for the new flavor of Winamp for Android v1.1 show:

    - Additional Free Music - listen to the newest releases with Full CD Listening Party
    - SHOUTcast now available on most Android 2.1 devices
    - Streaming playback now powered by a new native Winamp media engine
    - Updated SHOUTcast Featured Station List
    - New Languages: Simplified Chinese & Traditional Chinese

With the new CD Listening Party, users will enjoy access to a great deal of free music, with full-length albums at their disposal for streaming playback.

The development team notes that users will enjoy new music each and every week, as the list of available albums is updated with new releases from the most popular artists.

“From the Home screen, select "Free Music" and then tap on "Full CD Listening Party." This week you can stream full albums from David Bowie, Depeche Mode & Def Leppard... just to name a few. Check back weekly for new free albums,” a post on the company's blog reads.

Other enhancements in the new application release involve SHOUTcast, which can deliver a better experience on Android devices through a new native streaming media engine that comes to more devices as well.

Previously, SHOUTcast was available for devices powered by Google's Android 2.2 Froyo or above platform versions, but it is now available for Android 2.1 as well.

As stated above, the new app release brings the number of supported languages up to 14: English, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Dutch, German, French, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Romanian, Russian, Spanish & Turkish.

One thing that should be noted here is that some Motorola Droid X devices have UI issues following the upgrade to the new Android 2.3.3 platform version, and that a fix should come from Motorola.

Winamp for Android 1.1 is available for download from the Android Market.

Don't use any of those. Apart from the Video Player, there are tons in the Market.

Have you had a look at AppBrain?
