Nexus One 3G problems persist after update -- is it a design problem? -- Engadget
Same problems on the Nexus One, when held in the same place:
Same problem on the Nokia e71, when held in the EXACT SAME PLACE:
Those two are also respective flagship phones from Google and Nokia.
This is the exact same behavior that iPhone 4 is experiencing - this is not to say that I don't expect better from Apple, but it's to make the point that the antenna design that Apple has chosen is not to blame, as both of the above phones use the more traditional internal design, and yet are both placing the antenna in the exact same place (where, incidentally, all modern phones place the antenna).
So much about the argument from some luddites that "no other phones have this problem".
