You beat me to it -- yeah, I am always amazed at the expert-like authority with which people that neither have the devices, nor use Apple products, are able to state their opinions as fact... Maybe Gerbil's a stock analyst? It would fit.

Exactly - Apple doesn't rush at those things (which is why I found the "Software fix on Monday' rumor amusing), but they will be releasing a fix, whatever form it takes, most likely in the next few weeks.

Aside from actually engineering a fix, it will take Apple equally at least a week of testing to verify that any fix they release actually does what it should, without causing other problems.
