How can I remove pixelisation from Photos / DVDs?

How can I remove pixelisation from Photos / DVDs?

You know where it is all made fuzzy so you can't see the fine detail. It must be possible as a paedo in the UK was caught when his photo was 'de-pixelised'.

GIMP has a Despeckle filter. Maybe that will help you.

Video I would think needs some serious hardware and professional software.

Once the photographic image is saved with pixels enlarged it is impossible to restore that area to higher resolution.

Not impossible --- just very, very challenging.

Highly challenging with a single picture; much easier if you have a stream of images, like a video.

    Humbert,

Since the nips usually pixellate cocks, you can take a good idea of how to unpixellate from the fact that you are trying to draw a cock.

"Unscrambling" algorithms working with contextual information can use this method to assist in the process.

E.g. it wasn't that difficult to "unswirl" the paedo's photo last year because the "swirl" that had been used was fairly predictable.
