Has anybody come across a KDE file manager or (less important) a window manager tweak that can show file names properly when they are in Thai?

I have a Slackware 12.2 system for our accountant running KDE 3.5, I f*cking hate KDE (K this, K that etc, it's retarded), but giving her fluxbox would be too much trouble, even though it would be fun as a punishment to her for being so annoying.

Anyway, it turns out that the POS Konqueror can't display Thai file names unless you switch the whole system over to Thai which is not practical as then *everything* is in Thai and nobody can find anything or understand any of the menus etc.

All the language support files are installed and various apps handle Thai pretty well but the desktop displays a folder or file with a Thai name as ?????, title bars are garbage when an app (Open Office etc) has a Thai-named file open and Konqueror shows crap when browsing a folder of files with names in Thai.

I have tried using Kontrol panel to change the default fonts to something that has Thai such as Tahoma, Angsana etc but it didn't make any difference.

Thanks muchly for suggestions, I am wondering if D3lphin will do it or maybe ROX-filer? There's lots of stuff on google about issue this but I haven't found anything very recent.
