The tossers.
What's Libre like?
Don't suppose there's an easy way around it.
And no (although it is probably a response that I would give) posting a picture of a pen and sheet of paper is neither big nor clever.

Always happen to my computer at office...![]()
Earlier this year I had to replace the HD in my computer. Of course, the new one was blank. I found my old Windows 7 box so I could reactivate it on the new HD (a shop loaded a temporary version for me) but I still can't find the box for Word 2010. I'm using Open Office. It's OK for a temporary measure but it's nowhere near as good as Word.
OpenOffice is crap,
use Google Docs, it's free
the future is Google, not Microsoft
Will give that a go in 13 days or so. Cheers.![]()
Easy enough to delete your 2010 version and get 2016 off pirate bay.
Sweet, will try the google docs option first, and in not satisfactory might do a torrent d/l.
i think Windows 10 will suss out any pirated MS Office progsOriginally Posted by Bogon

I had a 2007 version of office running and wanted to upgrade. Found a full legal Office 2016 professional packet for 23€ and bought 3 of them for our 3 computers.
Legal thanks to EU rulings that Microsoft cannot limit corporate bulk versions to their intended use. Unfortunately for you only valid for purchase and installation in the EU.

I'm installing it now. Just downloaded the file - 211 MB.

LibreOffice is crap, you will be uninstalling it faster than your download
So far, after 30 minutes, it seems to be slightly better than OpenOffice but I still prefer Microsoft Word.
If you are just creating simple documents then libreoffice is adequate, doesn't take too long to get up to speed and is not likely to change as much as word has over the years.
If you want to write a tome then learn LaTeX....
I'm betting on this.Originally Posted by Troy
As others have said, it's fairly similar to MS Office for stand alone documents and adequate for most. If you are into Object Linking and Embedding, using Powershell to render your data in Excel or Word etc., like the Excel PowerPivot and table definitions, sharing and collaborating on documents then stick to MS.
They do a great deal for members of big organisations to install on their home PCs for under a tenner. You will need their corporate email and a link from their admins.
get Google Docs, free and online, problem solved

You can link and automate using a variety of methods in Libreoffice although you will have to download your preference. Python would be my recommendation.Originally Posted by BigRed
