    WiFi problem?

I'm not computer literate and I was hoping someone could advise me about my WiFi.
Once 3 tablets have connected to the internet then that's it. Anymore and the WiFi won't connect on 4th, 5th,..............I was led to believe a WiFi should be able to operate with at least 50 connections. If that's true then what's wrong in my house?

TOT set it up. TP-Link is the manuf. I've pressed 'reset' as Dillinger requested but will have to wait till all the kids are on their tablets to know if it worked.

I think the password is set as the phone number of the person who requested the service - though that may only be the wifi .

If it's TOT, by default the username will be "admin" and the password "tot". Type in the URL 192.168.1.1 to access the router.

Are you sure the kids have put the correct password into their pads ?
Go on them and click forget network an start again.

Here it says 256 devices can connect to a router

TP-LINK Router Device Limit - Routers - Networking

via DCHP which is the automatic IP/subnet/gateway/DNS server configuration that most people will be using , the amount of users that can connect will be defined by the size of the DHCP lease pool - ususaly 50 -150 IP/users

though a problem common with public access routers like bars/coffee shops is they will have 50-150 IP/users available in their lease pool , but the lease expiry will be 7 days ( configured usually in second ) which is the time the IP will be reserved before the lease expires and the IP is freed up again to be assigned to a new MAC address.

for home users the long lease times is not an issue and for the coffee shops/bars it is easily solved by setting the lease time to something like 2 hours
If you torture data for enough time , you can get it to say what you want.
