But still the file would open?
This would be opening a file, but not necessarily knowing that you had unzipped it, which might be possible if you knew nothing about computers.

Or not knowing when watching a film video on your computer using a codec that you did not know was there,

then yiu would be unzipping all over the place.

And you still would not have a clue.
