    True Internet - fixed IP?

since when is the assigned IP address a fix one?

it would change, whenever i logged on, but doesnt do this anymore... its always the same...

and since then (at least so it seems to me) I cant update firefox anymore... some error with "integrity"...

do you all get the same IP everytime with true (home wifi)?

" Dynamic IP addressing assigns a different IP address each time the ISP customer logs on to their computer, but this is dependent upon the Internet Service Provider (ISP) because some ISP's only change the IP address as they deem it necessary."

Generally you would pay extra for a static ip, doubt you are, so you have a problem, call true.

I think that is a feature which is getting enabled when you log into TD so we all can share the same IP address.

i contacted true, and they said it is resolved... i restarted the router (as usual)...

i went to www.ip-adress.com - and this shows still the same old ip... (even though i cleared the cache etc)...
other websites show a different ip-address for me...

could someone pls check, what they get on www.ip-adress.com
something with the 144.144 numbers in it?

im wondering, if the whole thing might have been just a faulty display on this website?
maybe this website always shows the same ip for everyone - what it didnt do some weeks ago...

When the IP is allocated to you it is 'leased'. It won't get allocated to anyone else until the lease expires; it's refreshed continually.

not forgetting that TRUE runs its proxies

    start - run - cmd

    tracert 8.8.8.8

the first IP is prob 192.168.x.x
the second is prob your WAN IP which should be what tinternet will see

I just got a TRUE MOVE USB internet connection, I also have CAT CDMA installed on the PC. CAT is working fine when I turn it on, but TRUE seems to be having a problem. I got it because a friend of mine came over with his notebook and he was getting 7GB/sec. Mine hardly crawls along, and he left on a trip overseas. Could use some help from anyone familiar with this. I did allow True in the firewall.

Anyone stupid enough to pay for any of True's 'services' deserves all the pain and suffering that they will almost certainly receive.
