So, this being Thailand, the chances are, that it could still be for sale!

If it has been owned by a Thai, be assured the walls need paint, the plumbing's probably knackered and about half the electric outlets are inoperable. How many cracks in the driveway, or is it completely crumbled by now?

Aircon that cools down to 30 when the wind's blowing.

How many concrete nails hanging from cracked walls with bits of bailing wire looped around the end -- remenants of the Hello Kitty poster and bhumibol's 50th birthday photo?

Seven bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, sleeps 20, and one tiny recycled-tire garbage bin, collected twice a month.

They're selling an 11 M baht house with a sign made from 26B sheet of plastic paper? Cheap, ignorant, petty.

Always the cynic, me. I'd have to rent it for a month before I made an offer.

    No cracks in the driveway.
    No aircon.
No concrete nails as the place we painted last year.
Garbage 3 times per week I think there, maybe more.
    Ermm, no furniture

Maybe it would be well suited for use as a Russian bordello!

I looked around a couple of these places some years back, they are different! You would either like them or hate them, I don't like them, just can't see putting that sort of money into a town house, what about the neighbours?
    Cheers

One neighbour is Thai, they live in Bangkok and come down for the occasional weekend, the other is an empty building that is up for rent, no idea how much the rent is each month though, if it's furnished then it will have a few million bahts worth of furniture in it

Sorry DD, didn't realise you'd replied and offered to show me the house till it was too late yesterday. I did in fact take a ride out and photograph where I think you are talking about. Is the house located opposite the Family Mart on the corner of Pratumnak Soi 5? The one I was looking at is numbered 338/1 and is exactly how you describe, but I couldn't for the life of me work out where the swimming pool is!
Again I'd prefer to do this in a PM to you but cannot till I've reached 20 posts...... me arranging to meet you for a house viewing is not exactly the type of chat other posters on Teak Door want to see! Can you PM me your contact details please and I'll be in touch.
    Cheers.
