I was hoping to see more pics of the house.

I was hoping to see some more pics of the outside of the house and maybe of the surrounding area>

11m for this kind of house ? it's totally overpriced !!! but again all Pattaya is these days (despite being a complete dump)

9m is still expensive from the pics we can see here. Looks old and probably need a lot of work for decoration and repair. I would guess not less than 1m or even 1.5m for repair and decoration. At 10m, not a bargain.

It would be acceptable between 5m and 6m considering the location and the size of land. These days Thais have unrealistic expectations when it comes to properties, and so do farangs. Sometimes it works, but most of the time, there is no volume for such sales.

Only a stupid farang desperate to move to Pattaya would go for it.

To build this place now would cost about 20 million baht, the ground floor is 49 meter deep.

What would you need a place 49 meter deep ?

20m ? including land ? I doubt that. A friend of mine build a stunning looking house (featured in those glossy magazine) and it only costed 19m incl. the land in Bangkok

4m or 5m would be a good price for that place. But asking 9m for it is totally unrealistic.

It will sell its a value, the pix dont do it justice. Go down and have a look, I have not seen buildings like this in Thailand, the buildings are more Mediterranean in style.

You really do have to see them to appreciate them.. I stopped and had a look in a big rainstorm. I would like to know who the architect was.

why would you need a place with 8 bathrooms? last house we built had 8 bathrooms though, why would you need a swimming pool? cos you can afford one perhaps

Can anyone post a pic of the outside ? the inside looks crap for now. I thought it was the maid quarter. Still if it looks like shit, no matter how massive, it will not sell at that price. For that price I can get a 450 sq. meter in Bangkok with 5 Bathroom, 12 A/C units and and about 10 rooms and a kitchen with marble top and floor.

if you have many guests then you will need 8 bathrooms. But 49m deep ? what were they thinking ? maybe they couldn't afford A/C and thought it would be smart to dig deeper for a cooler first floor ? I would hate to see the place when there is a mud slide or a flood. Could be interesting if you could make a small hotel or a small guest house out of it. Any more pics so we could see the 49m deep justification ?

49 meters depth, ie the building goes back from the front 49 meters, that area has parking for 3 cars, several maids rooms and several bathrooms.

That was my first thought. Strange that it took so long for someone else to figure that out.

nope, he meant depth; the word is commonly used to denote how far back a house goes

If the house actually had the first floor 49metres deep, that would be strange!!

The bog is normally near a wall so you can hang the tissue holder and bum spray on it.

Yes, but it's worrying that there's a 5 or 6 inch gap between the tank and the wall here. I'm worried if I lean back the tank'll snap off!

40 cms always used to be the standard distance for the hole, this has changed over the years and this one must be water saving one

Dirtydog, could you post more photos, anything would be useful, finding it hard to get a proper idea of this place, a proper sense of it's potential. Perhaps less of a focus on the servants quarters would help.

DD's on the hard sell here! Must have vested interests... note loads of pics of the maids hong and dunny so must be doing the maid?

Whats the total sq m ?

There's a Family Mart across the street but.

Difficult to show a 'full frontal' pic since these are built up against the side of the hill. The road out front is quite narrow and fairly busy and other side of that road is getting quite well built up. The Mediterranean villa on 'roids is a decent description.

Several of these adjoining units are already 'guest houses' and this would be a good candidate for another small 'boutique hotel' on buddha mountain.

Where exactly is this on Buddha mountain? I'm interested but, again, I just don't have enough to go on here.
