The BTS/MRT Under Construction thread

Gold Line will be a ''people mover'' line, neither a rail or monorail. Can be built quicker I suppose.

Translation:

ITD closing two lanes of Charoen Nakhon road for 2 years to construct 1070 million Baht Golden line AGT to feed ICON SIAM to be opened in December 2019 with 15 Baht flat rate

BTSC has been hired to run Golden line AGT using 2 sets of Bombadier Innova300 driverless AGT in 3-car formation with 3 minute interval

There will be 3 stations
1. Krung Thonburi to connect with Krung Thonburi station of BTSC
2. Charoen Nakhon - connecting with ICON SIAM near Charoen Nakhon Soi 6 near Wat Thong Pleng Bridge
3. Klong San near Taksin hospital with skywalk to connect with Taksin hospital and a plan to connect with red line commuter once red line commuter has managed to cross Chao Phraya river to Bang Bon and Mahachai

Construction started a few months ago

As it isn't really a railway, I'm not too enthusiastic. It's alright for the likes of tomcat who will use the line as a hiso shuttle to another posh mall.

Is the gold line gonna be another (small) elevated rail system that's run by a different company than the rest?

So far in Bkk, there's the BTS, MRT (Which I believe will be elevated in parts), Airport link and the new SRT that's gonna past Don Muang, so that's 4 elevated rail systems in one city and none of them are compatible or run by the same company/organization.

Is the Gold Line gonna make it 5?

Ta for rail info Pat is there a live map of what is actually running today that is liev updates, you and others have posted maps of projected lines,

A journey planner like Copenhagen Paris or London be handy

You put in your journey and a computer offers routes, next rain tram and final walk to home office bar etc

I'd guess such an app funded by ads be a money spinner if reliable in real time?

The good ones show fastest, least change handicap access, toilets etc

I've been out taking the ''now'' ones. The pics were wasted in Hung Lao's photo thread as he said they weren't from over 100yrs ago

I started this on another thread when I'd done just a few but as it's not really suitable for the old photos thread I didn't bother
