So what about the flying scotsman's visit to Cornwall?
https://www.cornwalllive.com/news/co...-train-2076410
That was an enthusiasts special. That's the only working loco in the UK. Took them 10yrs to restore.
I think the trip was about £400 inc hotels etc
Thing is, there's not much to do in Penzance so I hope they don't hang about.
Oh hang on, they'll go to Lands End & St. Michaels mount for sure.

One 1.5 liter bottle of Yen Yen.
Empty and rinse.
Fill with 1.5 liters of Laughing Bird 13%.
There are no restrooms/bathrooms/toilets in BTS or MRT stations or trains. Luckily, there are so many malls by some stations that you can just use their public restrooms along the way. Although the MRT and BTS are the fastest ways to get around Bangkok, if your destinations are far apart, you may need to forward-plan your restroom visits.
All stations have facilities for their staff.
If ya busting to grown out a nasty turd ya just ask the staff to get security to let ya use it. Ya then back out the offending article into the shitter, wash ya hands and fook orf.
Some of you supposedly tuned in expat fookers are so untuned in at times eh.
Fook.![]()
Over the last few years I have observed the construction if the overhead rail system, amazing, even the older system that have been in place for 10 or 15 years are still a fantastic way to get around Bangkok.
...yes: (very) slowly the electric rail system is beginning to come together...remove politics and greed and everything would already be functioning...eventually, it will be possible to dodge flying pigs and take the BTS to the Laksi station and a "people mover" to the government complex at CW...eventually...
Majestically enthroned amid the vulgar herd
The MRT and BTS transport in Bangkok are simply sensational and the extending of the system is continuing at a furious space.
The wankers who criticise the public transport in Bangkok are a waste of space and delusional.
Specially coming from So - Cal.
Be lucky to catch a fooking bus eh. Jessuusss
Since we moved away from Sukhumvit have only used the BTS twice in about 3 years mostly use songthaew's 9 baht whatever the length of the journey.Plenty about normally wait about a minute occasionally overcrowded but only during happy hour.Got to get to the pubs and get that bargain shopping done.
Fascists dress in black and go around telling people what to do, whereas priests... more drink!
The new extension to the MRT is a wonderful thing for me.
The Sam Yot station isn't far from my place of work and I take to the Phra Ram 9 station now for a bone crushing cost of 17B. A taxi then to my house for 100B. It gets a bit crowded, but nothing like the airport link. I'm hoping that when the orange line gets finished I can transfer from the the next station up on the MRT to a station close to my house.
