Watch carefully Sabang as McCain hits another home run. This is another chess move to Obama's weak game of checkers.

I gather GWB gave Obama a summons to Washington which was accepted.
The poor Obama campaign is so woefully out maneuvered, it's hysterical.
It's a matter of perception. I don't see it this way.

The economic crisis is moving the polls. The election is still 38 days away, however.

I think Americans are watching their bank accounts, wallets, and pensions more than any political "Maneuvering" right now.

^^ I will certainly watch, but I don't think the electorate is that ignorant, or at least the swinging vote that will decide it.

Campaigning without taking or answering questions from the Press?

Dodging a critical Presidential debate, because a self confessed Economic incompetent says he's 'required in Washington' this Friday? How many economic committee's is mccain involved in then?

I think you underestimate your fellow citizens.

laughable.....especially considering mccain's own statements regarding his 'knowledge' of the economy.

here are two very real possibilities....

    1. the old man can't do more than one thing at at time, and needs a 'time out' to collect his thoughts. yeah, just what we need in a president.

    2. he's scared to debate obama.

A better poll would be the number of days left to announcement of election cancellation and imposition of Martial Law.

Boy it smells like horseshit arround here!!! Did McCain fill a load into his trousers?
What a whimp this republican wanna-be-president is.
Palin's got to shut up because she talks garbage all the time.
McCain doesn't know what to say except "Hey I'am a war hero but I need a time out to count my bullets".
And in the mean time the other republican idiot who of course plays a big part of this financial missery is proving AGAIN why he is the worst president the US ever had.
Now get this my Dear Republican Friends!!!!!
A few weeks ago this Bush-Bozo could'nt shake loose 3-4 billion $ for children WHO ARE SICK and have NO medicare. But he is ready to pay 85 billion for the AIG bank.
And what the War in Iraq and Afghanistan cost I don't even want to go into. But I'am sure all you republicans can sleep a lot better knowing all that money is thrown out the window, as long as the Boogy Man (Mohammed and Co.) anymore.
The Republican have to take responseability (Financial Crisis) for this mess they made the last 8 years

    good point herman.

and on a related (and equally absurd) note, last week mccain said the economy was fundamentally sound, and this week he's warning of an economic collapse.

Critical debate? I think by now everyone knows the candidate's positions. Any rate - McCain forced his hand and dare say he has to come back to Washington and work or he looks like a muppet. Obama says: "If they need smth they can call me"

BO needs to keep his gob shut!!!! This is all about perception - campaign or help resolve the financial crisis - think anyone with half a brain knows the financial crisis is the important bit.

Im not sure that the republicans go to sleep........... do they? i mean they feed on people in the middle of night, becasue they're brainless morons and their conscience keeps them up the rest of the night........that or dirty dealings, sex scandal, richboy meetings, hate rallies etc etc etc!

and democrats are just weak willed, and shallow

i dont think its relevant who becomes president is it, why is being president such a big deal he's a guise for many faces that work and makeand imply his decisions unless a new breed of american candidate or politics is upon us the same old same old!

Why does it matter there fore, when america is going be overcast by a shifting world economy, and demographic, the dollar is weak it will continue to lose its strong hold and new world powers will show themselves. No ones interested in america anymore and sleeping giants will provide the world with its stability!

America this and that, america has caused just as many problems as everyone else, but persists in its arrogant stature of delivering freedom civility and morality to its people. Quite clearly this is untrue, and yet people still believe themselves to be free and have rights, it is laughable at the western point of view on this, it really is comedy no 1.

for instance we were inundated that a woman was running for presidency, with a republican woman now nominated as rep.VP, obama is the black candidate, and what will be the difference? What is the outcome if either party wins, america will improve it's xenophobia against anyone not white and rich to lead it to a more morally conscious political standpoint? It will not persist directly in, and fundamentally direct itself in the nature of politics that it, as an apparent democratic civilised country barbarically demonstrates by childish revenge?

I am unsure of all of this, but to hope one thing, if america still continues to lead world polictics it should clean up its act and stop with the showboating carry out real politics for its people, and stop trying to muscle in on the worlds business when it doesnt care for anything but its own prevelance and so cannot dictate or carry out what it fells necessary.

If any candidate woman, man, of any race can do this in america, then this is what matters not the in between speculation and love of the game people have for the sport they're involved in.
im hot its so hot today.......milk was a bad choice!

    Oh Dear

McCain cancelled on Letterman at the last minute. He was not amused.

"So when John McCain cancelled on Letterman - at the last minute - you could hardly expect that the comic would take it easy on him. He didn’t....

But he had to cancel the show because he’s suspending his campaign because the economy is exploding. You know who John McCain is… he’s the running mate of Sarah Palin....

We’re suspending the campaign.’ Are we suspending it because there’s an economic crisis or because the poll numbers are sliding?"

    [It gets even better ]-

Letterman had yet another way to lampoon McCain when he found out that McCain was still in New York — not flying to Washington. In fact, McCain was talking to Katie Couric.

With the video feed of McCain and Couric displayed for all to see, Letterman quipped, “He doesn’t seem to be racing to the airport, does he? Hey, John, I got a question! You need a ride to the airport?”

Full Article- McCain cancels Letterman. Letterman rips McCain | csmonitor.com

What a Clanger. Another Republican lie too.
It seems to me Obama is coasting Home.
Palin was interesting, but it has backfired, as it should. The girl is not ready.
Now McCain, with trying to delay the Presidential debate, and now cancelling (and lying to) Letterman, looks like a fool.

Anyway, from the link above, Lettermans Ten questions:-

Of course it wouldn’t be a David Letterman show without a “Top Ten List.” And last night’s expectedly was aimed at John McCain.

The Top Ten Questions People are Asking The John McCain Campaign
    10. “I just contributed to your campaign - how do I get a refund?
    9. “It’s Sarah Palin - does this mean I’m pars’dent?”
    8. “Can’t you solve this by selling some of your houses?”
    7. “This is Clay Aiken. Is McCain single?”
    6. “Do you still think the fundamentals of our economy are strong, Genius?”
    5. “Are you doing all of this just to get out of going on Letterman?”
    4. “What would Matlock do?”
    3. “Hillary here - my schedule is free Friday night.”
    2. “Is this just an excuse to catch up on napping?”
    1. “This is President Bush - what’s all this trouble with the economy?”

Let's see. Everyone is predicting America's doom. It's finally here after forty years of saying this is it, for sure it's this time, really, America is doomed. John McCain says this is really important I'm going to Washington DC to chip and and help avert this slide towards doom, and the leftists bitch because he canceled his reservations at Letterman's. Brilliant!

^ And turns up at Katie Couric's instead, not on a plane to Washington.

He was at Couric's show for a 10 minute interview rather than hang at Letterman's for an hour? I wonder if they had a departure time booked for McCain's jet to take off from the airport?

Sabang, Letterman was funny. But he LOVES to slamdunk any Republican, so I take it in stride. I would think the Couric interviews were more important also. I think Palin's performance was shaky at best. She fell for Couric's teaser about the country going into a great depression and was unable to come across smoothly about McCain's accomplishments. All in all, not a good interview for her.
I also think the lefty broadcasters are really flaky. FOX had Obama on and O'Reilly really treated him with respect. Try that with CBS or MSNBC. I cannot see how Olbermann or his new sidekick Maddow get anywhere. Sure, Olbermann got kicked off election reporting, but he's still doing his ultra-partisan show aimed at mocking the Reps and drooling over Obama's viddles.

Letterman is definitely pro--Obama, but he and Mccain go back a long way- they've got (rather, had) a pretty good relationship. McCain has been on his show a number of times before, and was certainly willing to go on again.

We all, Rep or Dem, know the game McCain is playing- "the Nation is in crisis (true) so I'm the man to fix this up with a bipartisan solution". Therefore turn his back on the political campaigning, which he is currently losing, find a face saving way to delay the Obama debate (and maybe in the process prevent the wholesale massacre of Palin by Biden)- and look like good Presidential material, a man who puts country first and all that.

OK, it's a political ploy- like nominating Palin as VP. Maybe it will work, thats a matter of opinion. Unfortunately, by then appearing with Katie Couric on CBS, he shot himself in the foot, plain and simple. He excused himself at short notice for 'national interest' reasons. He then campaigned on another channel. What on Earth was he thinking.

    A terrible misjudgement.

She very well could be the President b/c of McCain's age. I don't like her policies, nor the way she answers questions, nor the way she got elected in Alaska with her campaign tactics.

For me, Palin is a major reason, I want BO to win.

^ Palin is a smart lady even Bill Clinton says as much - respects/admires her. Very shrewd politician who gets things done. Think she prob will be president some day, but most likely after 2 terms of McCain.

well brit, it's nice to see you pull back from your incredibly absurd post about clinton 'supporting' palin.

anyway, this video is an interesting way to help obama win in florida.

Because he's black and has a Muslim name that sounds suspicously like "Osama".

One alone's probably fatal to his chances.
