Out of control is the operative word. As you say, channeled arrogance is ok and too much humility can be a bad thing as well.

Dick Morris further had some advice for Obama. He said it was ridiculous being tainted for something his Pastor said. He said just as you don't rely on your hairdresser, doctor, or dentist for political advice, and can't be held accountable for their values, so too should Obama argue that his Pastor's views on politics are not his views, and not relevant to his views.

In other words, he goes to his pastor for religious guidance, not political guidance.

It usually is. If not directly then by the impact on it based on candidates stance on other issues. Cost of war, cost of universal health etc.

7.5 months is a lifetime in political elections, and I think more water will flow under the bridge until the conventions and election.

Yes, I think the economy will be the number 1 issue (even though the President and Congress) cannot and do not have as much influence over it as many in the public think.

Iraq, is fading in the minds and consciousness of the public and voter, according to poll results.

not taking a shot at you, but i have some real clear questions about that site and its methodology. how do they average polls? of the polls they average, are the questions phrased in precisely the same manner? are the questions in each poll in the same order? for example is question 'a' always followed by question 'b' and then question 'c'....or do some of the polls not even ask question 'b'? or ask them 'c', 'b', 'a'?

again, right now.
once AQ decides that it's time to resume operations on a large scale again, iraq will be back in the news. does anyone really think that they just went home and gave up? and frankly, it seems like they're starting to ramp things up already...how many bombs have gone off in the last two weeks? how many have been killed? clearly something is afoot.

and if between now and november either the sunnis and shiites decide it's time to have their inevitable civil war, i can assure you iraq will be back on the front page. and norton brings up a good point about relating the economy to out of control cost of fiasco in iraq. obama will certainly be talking about this in the summer. but i'm sure the white house will be throwing around even more money to try and make sure that doesn't happen.

From the ones I just looked at each ask which candidate they favor. Very straight forward. For example, registered democrats are asked; Do you favor Obama? Do you favor Clinton. For the general election it is a mix of Dem and Rep.

We all know all polls are not created equal so I believe this is what prompts your question. One can always find a poll to support an augment so for me having an average is about the best we can hope for. This site, a Time/CNN owned one seems to generally objective in presenting both parties on an even field.

i undestand how they do it mathematically, but their final results seem suspect if the methodololgy and the questions asked aren't exactly the same in each and every poll that they're averaging.

i'll go and check out their site a bit more.
