^Yes, but that arrogance can be channeled if it doesn't get out of control. That same arrogance gives him an exciting edge. He is a risky candidate, and therefore exciting.

Out of control is the operative word. As you say, channeled arrogance is ok and too much humility can be a bad thing as well.Quote:

Well, boys, it's really all about the so-called "White Guilt" that's infested America and elsewhere. Check this out.
An excerpt:
"Bargaining is a mask that blacks can wear in the American mainstream, one that enables them to put whites at their ease. This mask diffuses the anxiety that goes along with being white in a multiracial society. Bargainers make the subliminal promise to whites not to shame them with America's history of racism, on the condition that they will not hold the bargainer's race against him. And whites love this bargain -- and feel affection for the bargainer -- because it gives them racial innocence in a society where whites live under constant threat of being stigmatized as racist. So the bargainer presents himself as an opportunity for whites to experience racial innocence."
Read it all for it is good...:)

"Obama wants to add more than 90,000 troops to the U.S. military and envisions expanding their mission to stabilizing and rebuilding nations or confronting mass atrocities, he wrote in Foreign Affairs magazine. He would double foreign aid to $50 billion by 2012."

Wow, 90K more troops. Great! Wonder what he proposes to pay them with? Proceeds from the cancelled tanker contract?
even though you don't read about it on the drudge report, the iraq debacle (which obama will end in '09) is wasting $12 billion/ month.Quote:

He's got that in spades. yeh, I kinda like it too.Quote:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democrat Barack Obama's big national lead over Hillary Clinton has all but evaporated in the U.S. presidential race, and both Democrats trail Republican John McCain, according a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Wednesday.
Obama's lead over Clinton narrows: Reuters poll | Politics | Reuters
Obama still holds a 1.7% edge over Clinton (8 poll average)
McCain 1.4% over Obama (8 polls average)
McCain 1% over Clinton (8 Poll average)

it's mid march, right?
^just what I was thinking. At least one of the candidates will fall in a ditch before Aug. And its looking like it'll be, the economy stupid, all over again. Iraq may be a second-tier issue by then.
Yes much to early to take much from the polls. Just posted them because I like the Real Clear Politics website's approach of averaging poll results.Quote:

Yes, I think the economy will be the number 1 issue (even though the President and Congress) cannot and do not have as much influence over it as many in the public think.
Iraq, is fading in the minds and consciousness of the public and voter, according to poll results.
not taking a shot at you, but i have some real clear questions about that site and its methodology. how do they average polls? of the polls they average, are the questions phrased in precisely the same manner? are the questions in each poll in the same order? for example is question 'a' always followed by question 'b' and then question 'c'....or do some of the polls not even ask question 'b'? or ask them 'c', 'b', 'a'?Quote:

and if between now and november either the sunnis and shiites decide it's time to have their inevitable civil war, i can assure you iraq will be back on the front page. and norton brings up a good point about relating the economy to out of control cost of fiasco in iraq. obama will certainly be talking about this in the summer. but i'm sure the white house will be throwing around even more money to try and make sure that doesn't happen.
Hopefully some real clear answers.:)Quote:

i undestand how they do it mathematically, but their final results seem suspect if the methodololgy and the questions asked aren't exactly the same in each and every poll that they're averaging.Quote:

That may it be but essentially, the race is over. And I do mean the national election. Both these loser democrats will go down in flames as the American people will realize that they can't afford another tax & spend, terror-appeasing whimp like either of them in the White House...heh:rolleyes:
