A caucus is a precinct (Congressional area?) meeting of people who argue forth their candidate and give reasons why. (But their minds are already made up beforehand.)
I believe caucuses are smaller and involve more grassroot organization.
A primary is when people go to a poll and vote on a ballot.
I believe caucuses are closed: you have to register as a (D) or an (R) to attend and vote.
A primary can be open (anybody can vote) or closed (you have to register for a party).
Texas has both. This is the called the "Texas two-step." I don't know why they have both.
