Jimmah had four years in Office, but the Iran hostages were held for 444 days, from Nov. 4th 1979 to Jan 20 1981, when they were released. Or the final one third of his term.

"The crisis ended with the signing of the Algiers Accords in Algeria on January 19, 1981. The hostages were formally released into United States custody the following day, just minutes after the new American president Ronald Reagan was sworn in."

Why do so many of you go on as if the release of the Hostages was a triumph of the Reagan administration- it had nothing to do with him, hell he had not even taken his seat in the Oval Office when the deal was thrashed out.
