    Every Shelf Stackers Nightmare

I thought they took it quite well...

Man fills 22 trolleys at supermarket and has credit card denied

A shopper managed to load 22 trolleys full of drinks and crisps amounting to £3,338 before his card was declined at the till.

Staff of supermarket Morrisons in Barry, South Wales were left to return each and every item to its rightful shelf after the mystery shopper found he couldn't pay for any of the items he had bought, it was reported.

Three staff members escorted the shopper round the aisles filling 22 trolleys with thousands of pounds worth of spirits, beer and fizzy drinks.

The Morrisons employees were under the impression that the vast quantity of food was for a charity event which the shop then advertised over their announcement system.

A new till aisle was opened for the shopper before his card was repeatedly rejected when he attempted to pay.

Store manager Tony Ware told the Mirror: 'He said he wanted to do quite a large shop for a raffle on the waterfront with balloons and inflatables to raise money'.

A spokesman added: 'It turned out he had some mental illness problems - he meant well.'

If it keeps them off the internet I'm inclined to encourage this behaviour.

I always liked to park my cart somewhere in Walmart and walk around the store without pushing it, but too often when I came back they had already taken it and put the things in it back on the shelves. Some stores are too anxious to re-stock even non-perishable items in carts.

When Tesco has only 2 or 3 lanes open on a Sunday afternoon and the lines are 10 customers deep, I feel little guilt in leaving my full cart at the front of the store.

I'll have you know I've never laid my hands on a sheep, and you'll never prove it in a court of law.

Wouldn't work now, they all take plastic.

Added: Actually, if you pull out cash now, they look at you like I used to look at students paying for a takeout with a cheque.
