An Amish man in the US who sent hundreds of sexual texts to a 12-year-old girl was busted after he arrived in a horse-drawn buggy for a prearranged rendezvous.
Willard Yoder, 21, from Milford in Indiana, sent about 600 texts, including nude photos and explicit videos to the girl's phone who he had contacted "by chance", the reports.
When the girl's parents found out about the texting, her mother took control of her phone and continued communicating with Yoder, pretending to be a girl of 13 years old.
The parents also contacted police.
The girl's father, who chose to remain anonymous, told WRTV6 he was shocked by the graphic nature of the text messages as Yoder repeatedly asked the girl for photos of her genitals.
"When the pictures started coming in, and they got more graphic, I was like, 'Oh, my gosh, this is unbelievable'," the victim's dad said.
Detective Craig Pennington told ABC News Yoder did not know that girl and had just randomly dialled her mobile number.
"He just punched a number, hoping for a reply… that's kind of scary because I'm sure that's not the first time that ever happened."
Yoder was nabbed in an undercover sting after he pulled up to a local restaurant in Milford in a one-horse wagon.
According to a Connersville Police Department report, Yoder had "told the girl in a text message the proposed sex act would happen inside the buggy".
Yoder later told the police he thought the girl was 13 and admitted it was a "bad decision".
Conservative Amish people usually shun influences from the outside world, and avoid using modern technology such as using electricity or telephones.
But msnbc.com reports mobile phones are used by some Amish for convenience, usually outside the home.
Yoder has been charged for trying to solicit sex from a minor and a preliminary trial date has been set for September 19.

Can someone explain the legal position of a guy who writes lasciviously to another adult, but that adult is posing as a child.

(I realise that isn't the exact position in this case, as the Mother intercepted the phone some way into the seduction)

For example, if I were to pose as an imaginary nine year old boy online and entrap adults into making lewd comments to me, would they actually be guilty of anything given i'm not 9.*

(*I'm actually 9 and three quarters)

So this guy just dials a random number and starts sending pictures of his private parts without even knowing who the recipient is.

I think a lot of the Amish who call themselves Amish today aren't real Amish, becasue they don't follow the rules of the Amish much, like the Amish we have in Pennsylvania. We got a food market here in Philadelphia called the Reading Terminal with a lot of Amish stalls, some of the Amish girls are smoking hot, and innocent in a way you don't find in girls these days. I always been treated nice by the girls, it must be because I wear similar facial hair similar to the Amish, the Amish men wear facial hair very similar to Muslim men who follow the Sunnah.
