I'd love to have a job where fuck all you ever do can be proved or disproved.
No one can sack you for being shit at it.
There are people in the world being payed to look for life outside our solar system, great job, even if there is life you will never be sacked for not finding it. Brilliante job.

"Even better, it does not require more than one dimension of time and three of space, when some rival theories need ten or even more spatial dimensions and other bizarre concepts."

I like this guy's Julian Barbour—Ideas theory; he just gets rid of time altogether, which I think makes perfect sense. "Time as such does not exist but only change."

How are you going to measure the rate of change without time? But then again our concept of time is just a measurement of the rate of change. Doesnt matter if you measure it with a wrist watch or an atomic clock. It still comes down to a measurement of a uniform rate of change.

And to have change you must have some kind of imbalance with things moving to find that perfect harmony of balance. Once things are in perfect balance and there is no change, there can be no time. In a perfectly balanced universe there would be no change and no time, so in effect there would be no way of knowing if there was anything there at all. Something like it might have been before the Big Bang. But then again there would have been no reason for the Big Bang to happen in the first place if all matter, space and time was in perfect balance since there would be no reason for it to change. All the theories I see put forward strive to find some kind of a perfect balance. Perhaps they should be looking for the imbalance in the forces and matter to explain why things keep stirring and moving rather than an equation that balances perfectly?

Yep. Things are never what they appear to be. Everything we think we know is wrong.
