The word has nothing to do with "Semitism", just as "inflammable" does not mean the opposite of "flammable". Similarly note that we park on drive-ways and drive on park-ways. While your analysis of the biblical term of "Semite" rings true (though you should revisit "Yehuda"/"Yehudim"), I'm not sure that anthropoligists would agree with this as a matter of fact. (Furthermore, Arab sources make no mention of Abraham prior to their learning of him from Jews around the time of Mohammed, ~2500 years later.)
