I'll borrow a term from Gridiron, 'Running Interference'.

Israel has been prominent in the news recently, for all the wrong reasons. Of course the story of the moment is the deaths on the Mavi Marmara. Or was.

Am I the only person that sees this inordinate amount of Press attention to the ill considered (and Wrong) comment of a distinctly past it nonagenarian Hack as a fairly blatant form of 'running interference'- designed to deflect the current media spotlight from Israel, it's government and it's misdeeds?

You can fool some of the people some of the time....

As for Helen, here is my epitaph for you Dahlin' (thanks Neil Young)- "it's better to burn out, than to fade away".

As for the White House Press corps, I'm sure they will be quite happy for the best seat in the gallery to no longer belong to an obscure wrinkly.

Seems odd to be reading someone trying to be eloquent and see a school-boy error like this. That is for things. Who is for people .. the only person who .. Canadians do that a lot. Are you Canadian?
