True; customs officers have told me they use profiling but in the vast majority of cases find nothing, so how much use is profiling?

That's because the hijackers are a very small percentage of all travelers. But, it's a fact that there have been far more Saudi/Yemeni/Nigerian young men involved in it than Japanese/Korean/Thai old ladies. I don't see why people fight profiling. It's a must! Just a bunch of liberals with a dream that everyone is the same.

During the 90's a border guard in Washington State pulled aside "an Arab man acting nervous" and discovered bombing material that was to be used at LAX. Profiling. It helped save lives.

I never said everybody is the same, the incident you quote is only one and is a chance happening. Does it occur to you a the majority of Muslims are law abiding and no more interested in blowing up aircraft or murdering innocent people any more than you or I am? Your assertion that profiling saves lives is nonsense since terrorists will simply find ways to evade such measures. Where in the world has profiling caught a terrorists in an airport yet?

I'm sure the Israelis can provide some data.
