Jesus, it seemed like everyone and his brother was on the no-fly list, a million people plus, including Nelson Mandela.

I think this points back to the utter incompetence of the Bush administration in setting up effective counter-terrorist measures. These guys knew how to line their pockets, and to get their friends in nice cushy govt jobs, but unfortunately, for all the constitutional laws they were breaking, the colossal incompetence of these people would make institutions like the Dept. Of Homeland Security impotent. Bush reading children's books after being informed of 9/11, the handling of Katrina - all that makes it rather unsurprising.

If somebody is in a suspected terrorist database, I'd expect them to be on a no-fly list. That's why all airlines have to submit passenger lists to the US authorities for flights to the USA.

As for the US authorities don't operate in Nigeria - doesn't matter because in this case they had more than enough information. If they weren't complete retards, they'd have stopped the guy from flying, or at the very least given him a good body search beforehand.

Idiots are in charge. It's sad. They don't need more powers. They need to be fired.
Far from being fired, the incompetent morons in the American Government are already drafting new ways to make flying even more miserable than it already is. Apparently we're now going to be told to stay in our seats like school children. The objective of terrorism is to weaken society by disrupting it, and in that regard the US Government seems determined to make this failed act a success for the terrorists.
Apparently the last hour before landing your not allowed out of your seat or blankets.

This should prove interesting for people like my old man with his weak bladder, he likes to pee just before landing, can't see him staying in his seat and wetting himself because a trolly dolly says so.

The new precautions suggested like this are idiotic in the extreme.
They champion falsehood, support the butcher against the victim, the oppressor against the innocent child. May God mete them the punishment they deserve

I don't think they mean it literally, not like everyone will be cuffed to their seats, so if you want a pee you're free to visit the loo and explain about your weak bladder to the judge later.

Y'know, this is another reason I do not like Islamic terror attacks; after each one, whether failed or devastating, we gotta go through this thing about listening to the idiots.

Since all these lunatics seem to be radicalized Muslims perhaps they will leave Emirites Airlines alone - 'bout all I use any more...
