    M. Scumacher to drive for Mercedes ?

In the early hours, half asleep and a bit pissed, I was listening to the BBC world service. An interview with some Motoring Journo. He was going on about the above.

    Anybody heard anything?

It was on the BBC last night. Can't imagine why he'd want to go back, unless of course he's blown all his cash.

The journo was saying that he's boored.

Apparently he's got a bit of a neck problem but if that's fixed he's on board.

Sounds a bit of a publicity stunt, to me.

it is a rumour, but subject to Ferrari releasing him. As he is still on a consultancy contract with the Italian team.
There are reports he is keen to join Mercedes and have another crack at the world championship.
He was pissed off when he was not allowed to drive when Massa was out of action. Due to his motorcycling neck injury. However this is expected to heal by end of this year. Thus should be in the clear to drive for the Silver Arrows!
Will be only a one year contract. Since the smelly germans want the hot Vettel currently with the Red Bull outfit. He will be free in 2011.

Meanwhile Rakkinon (spelling) been offered US$15mn to fuck off from Ferrari and allow Alonso to join the team.

The rumor based on an interview with Jordan. Could be and will make for additional interest next year if so.

"If he signed with Mercedes, who this week took over the Brawn GP team, Schumacher would be reunited with Ross Brawn, the team chief who helped him win all his world titles with Benetton and Ferrari.
Jordan said: "I believe the Brawn team will have Michael Schumacher in it next year."

He worked well with Brawn, from what I've heard.

'Schumi in talks with Mercedes GP' - Planet-F1 News - from planet-f1.com
'Schumi in talks with Mercedes GP'

    Friday 20th November 2009

Michael Schumacher has reportedly held 'preliminary talks' with Mercedes GP that could see him make a comeback next season.

The seven-time World Champion was set for a brief return with Ferrari during this year's Championship before a neck injury put paid to his plans. But that doesn't mean he's out for good.

According to a report in the Daily Telegraph, 'Schumacher has been sounded out about a sensational return to Formula One next season' with Mercedes Grand Prix.

The newspaper claims that given 'Mercedes takeover of Brawn GP and World Champion Jenson Button's shock switch to McLaren, the possibility of a German dream team with Nico Rosberg is emerging.

'The associations would line up beautifully. Schumacher won all his World titles under the guidance of Ross Brawn at both Benetton and Ferrari, and Brawn will continue in the role of team principal at the newly minted Mercedes team.'

The deal, which would net Schumacher the same salary that Button turned down at Brawn GP in favour of McLaren, would finally see the German teaming up with Mercedes, who were in the past unsuccessful in their bids to lure him away from Ferrari.

'Talks are understood to be at an early stage,' claims the Telegraph.
Give a man a match, and he'll be warm for a minute, but set him on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

Rumor is that a divorce is in his future, so he'll need all the cash he can get...
