My simpathy to the kids for having such an asshole of a bitch of a mother.
I hope social services take their custody asap.

^You're stupid for thinking that. The US should let her take her kids to Disneyland. The saying seems to ring true though, once you have any sort of criminal record you are screwed from doing anything.

    Amen to that.
She is rather mouthy. Why is this even in the press? Did she run to them with the story? How else would they have known?
It is in the press because it is unfair.

How is it unfair, she pleaded guilty to a crime and was convicted, if the dumb bitch had just gone to America she would have been waved through, she went to the embassy and they asked if she had any convictions and the dumb bitch said yes, America hasn't got access to thailands criminal records system you know.

How can this be anything other than a staged event for her to get more publicity?

Absolute crap. There tens of thousands of Thai women in jail for very minor offfences, you will never read a sympathetic word about them in the Aussie press. This woman did a few days in a Thai jail and has been well paid for her story, looks like she's trying to milk as much as possible.

As for sticking up for herself, none of us really know, but she's no Aung San Suu Kyi. 100's of millions of women suffer unjustly, she's not one of them. Looking forward to never hearing about her again.

^That's bs! I dont think she was treated fairly at all. Being arrested, and put in jail, for stealing a bloody beer mat. Now, she has to pay the price of having a criminal record.... something really not quite right there.

It sees to me that she didn't have much of a choice to plead innocent. Apparently, according to Mustavas post, they may not have let her in anyhow. Since she has a criminal record she may have to apply for a visa if I'm reading that correctly.

I remember there was a Thai kid who was playing with the condiment tray at a noodle soup stall. The owner called the cops and he was put in jail. Don't think that one made the Aussie papers.

As I said before - She would never have gone and stolen a souvenir from a stall in the street. So why should she be let off for a beer mat?

Some people seem to think anything without a price tag or tied down is free.

I'm not saying let her off completely, but they went overboard. I certainly don' tknow the whole story, but for her to have a criminal record now for the rest of her life, is OTT imo. She was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and did something stupid, that she will have to pay for the rest of her life probably.

Which is why at school we are always told not to get in trouble with the police because a criminal record can ruin your life.

No sympathy for her now, no sympathy for her then.

Didn't dd make a poll on what should happen to this Aussie women. As I recall, the majority (by a long shot), said to give her a 1000 baht fine, and let it be. I'm sure I'm not alone in my sentiments.

    Not at all.

Seems unusual that she just got back from a budget holiday in Thailand, now she is shouting the whole family an extended holiday in USA. I suspect we will all be able to read about her experiences in some womens rag for which she will be paid a substantial sum .

"I've got to get all the Thai court documents translated into English and hope the charge is a misdemeanor and not a felony, but I'm not very hopeful," she said.

Do the Thais even make that distinction?[/quote]

Our very own Thai legal expert, English Noodles, has informed me that they don't make that distinction, all crimes are serious--whether robbing a bank or sipping a coke before you pay for it.

She,s just another "Aussie docker" that thinks the world owes her and her kids a living.Lots of children dont get the opportunity to travel to DisneyWorld or Disneyland seems neither will hers.
Maybe she should have thought of the impact of her actions when she was doing a runner down Bangla Rd to the beach with the Police chasing her.
A criminal record for a beer mat theft
Now a criminal record for a bank job that would have been more like it. And worth it if you got away

Dam thieving slut is going to get rich on playing the victim role for all the feminazi supporters out there. If it had been some old bloke from Parramatta or Redcliffe, he would be doing hard time in the Bangkok Hilton without a word in the media or any help from the government.
