'World's worst mum' raped own son

A MOTHER has been jailed for years of abuse against her six children that included her raping her 13-year-old son.

The Irish woman admitted she was the “worst mother in the world” after pleading guilty to a string of sex abuse and neglect charges, The Sun reports.

She became the first woman in the history of the Irish state to be jailed for incest when she was sentenced to seven years in jail.

The alcoholic 40-year-old admitted to two counts of incest, two of sexual abuse, six of neglect and wilful ill-treatment and neglect of the children between 1998 and 2004.

She cannot be named to protect the identity of her children.

Authorities tried to take the children in 2000 but with the financial support of a Catholic right-wing organisation the mother won a High Court case to block the order.

The offences took place at the family’s three-bedroom bungalow in Co Roscommon, which was dirty, strewn with rubbish, cold, damp and had dead rats and mice inside and out.

“Any possibility of them having a normal and proper life has been stolen from them by this woman who called herself their mother," Judge Miriam Reynolds said.

“They feel guilty. They feel they did something wrong. I can assure them that they did not.”

Yes, my experience is different, I have never found it cold in a Thai village, okay, maybe for a few nights in the year, but not in general, and the dead rats and mice bit, never seen any dead rats or mice inside a house that I have been a guest in.

Maybe you keep different company to me though.
