The authors of this 'survey' obviously never had the pleasure of traveling with large groups of mainland Chinese - they put any other group to shame.
Agreed. Mainland Chinks have the manners of feral pigs.

I was in Hong Kong 6 months ago talking to a local and he sort of said the same thing.

You can really see the difference in the mainlanders and the locals in the way they conduct themselves, the mainlanders just barge there way through like there life depends on getting to the front of the line.

Another good place to see this in action is any train station in India, thank fok they have a separate place for foreigners to buy tickets.

Just another American-bashing thread from a bunch of penis envy Brits.

    French, most obnoxious travelers
    Mon, 07 Jul 2008 21:39:05 GMT

An international survey characterizes the French as the most obnoxious, inattentive and annoying tourists among European travelers.

They also came second to last in the popularity of their own tourists who vacation at home, the Time website reported.

The study describes French tourists as unwilling or unable to communicate in foreign languages, and unwilling to spend money when they do not have to.

Japanese are the most-liked tourists for being polite, quiet and tidy. Germans, British and Canadians rank next while Americans finished 11th place.

While American tourists came first in trying to speak local languages, the French, Chinese, Japanese, Italians and Russians came in last.

The poll was carried out by the French travel website of Expedia.fr among hotel employees in Germany, the UK, Italy, France, Canada and the US.

Participants were asked to rank clients based on general attitude, politeness, tendency to complain, willingness to speak local languages, interest in sampling local cuisine, readiness to spend money, generosity, cleanliness, discretion and elegance.

I was working in Tianjing (in China) at the Mobil Plant and had to meet my mate in Shanghai one weekend.

Was dropped at the Tianjing airport and to take a direct flight to Shanghai when everything went tits up.

Runway snowed over and we were told this 1 hour after the plane was supposed too take off and now we are on a bus to Beijing.

Well I was the only quaylow on this bus and the rest were mainland chinese from Shanghai. Anyone who has worked in China know these particular people as being be the loudest, rudest, most uncouth, dirtiest people who have ever trod the earth.

Almost 4 hours after I arrived at the airport and freezing my bollocks off I have to put up with this continuous maddening din along with people spitting in the bus aisleway and this bus trip took over 3 hours.

Finally make it to Beijing airport and drove straight onto the tarmac. Well you have never seen anything like 100 odd people trying to depart the same exit doorway at the same time. Absolute chaos and it was same on the gangway stairs and when they were all trying to get on the plane at the same time.

Finally landed in Shanghai, there was the usual mayhem as soon as the plane landed with most of these cvnts trying to pull their bags out even when the plane had not stopped at the gate, located my bag and was then was accosted by another 20 off the cvnts trying to take my bag or offer me a lift to my hotel.

Put my bag down and to phone my mate and the last straw was when this prick picked up my bag and walked off with it.

Well I was after him and coat hangered him, he inturn knocked about 10 other cvnts over and all of a sudden my mate turned up explaining the bloke with my bag was his general manager who was also doubling as his driver for the evening.

Fvck I absolutely hate China mainly because of having to travel with the cvnts that live there.

here's a thought.......maybe Americans are just tired of hearing all the puerile, whiny, petty shite from others who have nothing better to do with their time?? it gets a bit more than tedious....

and the old "you must be defensive" tactic when your being attacked is typically moronic and predictable..yes attack me or mine and you'll get a face full of fist, or forehead it's as simple as that...
I'll not be a doormat like you petty fokkers and it's that thinking that makes the US the strong, powerful and proud country it is and rightfully so. The famous representative quote "don't tread on me" isn't just a phrase, it's way of life...not something to be ashamed of or embarrassed about...though you'd like us to think it is....

Make some critical comments about any British commonwealth here and see how many people get their panties in a twist and the red repos flowing....every bit as predictable..

my last straw was when they nearly trampled my wife who was 8 months pregnant at the time. We were entering the tram from inside the crowded, stinky, filthy airport in Guangzhou and they had not the least bit of courtesy I was very glad for my past football playing days they haven't seen blocking like that before...cocks!!

and the plane smelled like an old dirty ashtray something I haven't smelled on an airplane in more than 20 years..

I believe one can still smoke on most Chinese domestic flights and some Chinese regional {Asian} flights. Perhaps this has been modified and ceases to exist {??}.

Erm...how can seat reclining be considered rude. The seats recline, they are MADE that way for the comfort of the passenger who paid a fare just like the person behind him. On twenty hour flights, only someone with a very advanced notion of altruism would refrain from reclining because someone else didn't like it.
It's not that they recline, it's how they recline with no thought or consideration to the person behind them; hence "rude" seat recliners.

Never had your tray down with a meal or drink on it when the person in front decides to push their seat back all the way back with as much force as possible?

Kinda what I thought. Been a few years. Done all the domestic flight shite, having lived throughout China and HK. I will say, the Chinese were the last group to cave-in to the airline smoking ban.......
