McCartney to Lennon via the song Too Many People: You took your lucky break and you broke it in two.

Too bad bullets go straight. Too bad it didn't hit Yoko in the voice box. Never liked the Beatles much after Revolver, Rolling Stones for me (at that time). IMO the Bs all went down hill after the break up. It was one of those chemistry things that made their music likable, the Jew, the rich kid, the rocker, and Harrison. He's the one I miss.

I consider them the first of the boyz band. Martin saw their potential and taught them how to play. I also believe he wrote a lot of their songs. Didn't he have an advanced degree in music? If he did does anyone think he just sat there and watched them flounder around wasting studio time (an astronomical expense) re-doing takes on a tune that was bound to fail?

John with Yoko, Paul with the Kodak girl, George stiffing Clapton's wife. Was Ringo gay? Or was he just pleased to be photographed with knock outs a plenty?

He recalled how he bought a gun with hollow-point bullets from a friend in Georgia, telling him it was simply for protection in New York City.
Easy access to firearms, isn't that really what this boils down to?

I still remember that day clearly. I was at work and a colleague told me that John Lennon had just been murdered. I had to sit down !! Other deaths since, like Princess Diana, didn't come close to affecting me as much.

He's only a legend because he got shot. He wouldnt have been any more than McCartney is now. Never really cared for the Beatles music although I appreciate the impact they had.
If Chapman serves his sentence and just gets kept inside because he shot someone famous and loads of dimwits cry out about how he robbed the world of a genius isn't that a crime in itself?

Isn't the world a lovely place where people can co-exist and still have such varying opinions!! (Lennon a genuis or not?)
Agree, and with regard to your point that this prat seems to be being singled out and with regard to his parole application. If he would of killed a nobody he probably would be free by now.
Well he wanted fame and ended up with infamy!

I liked Lennon when he was in The Quarrymen.

    Skiffle rocks.

Eric Clapton? He only played the solo on George Harrison's "My Guitar Gently Weeps". A song that the rest of the band apparently didn't care for. There's also some doubt as to whether Clapton's solo was even used on the final track.
We can only be as smart as the information we are led to believe Tao.

Read somewhere that Clapton done most of the guitar solos on the Let It Be sessions and after seeing them (Lennon and Harrison) play that roof top jam I believe that neither of them were technical adept and to play the solo on Let It be.
Well if it wasn't Clapton who played it then.
Or maybe Clapton only was there to steal Patty Boyd from George > accomplished that solo didn't he!

I think Mark Chapman should be released.
Give him Gary Glitters new address and then let him go.
