PORN baron Paul Raymond has died — leaving £650MILLION likely to be shared between his four grandchildren.
The colourful tycoon launched the Raymond Revuebar strip club in London’s Soho and a host of top-shelf magazines including Men Only and Club International.
But he shrewdly made the bulk of his riches by buying huge swathes of vacant property in Soho following a police crackdown on its sex industry in the 1970s.
He ended up owning 60 of Soho’s 87 acres. And he watched the value of his portfolio, which includes Ronnie Scott’s jazz club and streets full of trendy bars, soar beyond belief.
Loot ... Cheyenne
Raymond, a recluse in his later years, died of respiratory failure on Sunday, aged 82.
His fortune will make the eldest of his four grandchildren, party-loving Cheyenne, 24, one of Britain’s most eligible girls.
A pal said: “She is incredibly pretty, good fun — and doesn’t have a boyfriend at the moment.”
On her MySpace website, make-up artist Cheyenne says she smokes, drinks and likes going out. She adds: “Thinking of taking up yoga. Maybe tomorrow. Fancy another pint?”
Raymond’s other grandchildren are medical student Boston, 21, Fawn, 21, and India, 16. Fawn and India’s wild mum Debbie — Raymond’s daughter — died of a drug overdose aged 36 in 1992.
Boston’s dad Howard, 48, told how Raymond had stayed indoors with the curtains drawn for several years.
The tycoon’s son added: “I think he led such a colourful life he just had nothing more to do or see. But he never took his finger off the pulse of the business.”
Haulage contractor’s son Raymond, born Geoffrey Quinn, left school at 15 determined to break into showbiz.
He turned to nude shows and sleaze. And in 1958 he opened his Revuebar, Britain’s first strip joint, by exploiting a loophole exempting private clubs from censorship.
