Just for fun with this crowd

    Zeke Hausfather @hausfath.bsky.social
We often hear folks skeptical of climate change claim that "the climate is always changing" or "temperatures rise before CO2" or "its the sun". In a new episode of PBS's Weathered, @leafwax.bsky.socialand I try and address these questions:

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

    ^ indeed.
the uk probably has enough energy under its land and seas for 50 years. coal, oil, fracking for gas etc.

but no, thanks to the power and influence of the minority pink haired carpet munchers, the man-bunned simpletons, and the lgbt hamas vegan slavery blm eco warrior, we cant use what's under our feet and so we ship timber from the usa and canada, gas from europe, all piped or shipped over at great expense, to burn in our power stations.

its fucking insane. but thats what our socialists want, and they are in power at the moment.

our electricity is the most expensive in the world, thanks to that and the green taxes added on. making our industry uncompetitive and our homes ridiculously expensive to heat.

why we dont use our own oil, gas etc. is beyond me.

well mr. harry "brain the size of a planet" barracuda, why dont you explain it.

how does importing wood from the usa, brazil and canada and lpg from norway, angola, trinidad and the usa to burn in our power stations help in the uks impossible dream of attaining net zero.

the biggest emitter of co2 in the uk is the wood burning power station at drax near selby, and that is before the carbon emitted by the diesel powered machinery used to fell the timber, cut it up, transport it to the coast, load it onto the ships and bring it to the uk, where it is again offloaded and transported to the power station.

i believe selby in yorkshire sits on top of large deposits of natural gas that were going to be collected by fracking and piped directly to the nearby power station, thereby reducing both the uks carbon footprint by a sizeable amount and substantially helping our balance of payments and also lowering the extortionate bills domestic and business consumers are forced to pay for electricity, until the fucking eco loonies and false information distributing virtual signalling holier than thou lefties demonstrated at the proposed sites and the project was stopped by the government.

as i said harry, we are lemmings led by fucking donkeys, and naïve people like you lap it all up like the useful idiots you are.

the americans, the norwegians, the landowners selling us the trees and the shipowners are laughing in our faces in the same way that i laugh in your face for believing the utter bullshit you greedily swallow.

Meanwhile here in the antipodes the massive Woodside owned Northwest shelf project who's lease was slated to end in 2030 have now had a new project approved for 2070. At last some common sense from the govt recognising the necessity of it. The hippies, The abbos, man bunned bludgers are all howling with outrage . Ha ha. Good result innit

But it's a lot warmer and less miserable in Oz than the UK where you chaps are 11.5 months of the year huddled around the heater.our gas is mostly for industrial use. Not so much heating usage.i rarely use my gas for heating. Just for cooking and hot water. Seriously thinking of getting them solar panels on the roof and go solar. Gotta do my little bit for the environment and global warming. I've saved enough bargirls. Time to look after the planet now innit

Nooo. He is on me about hiking 25km to a lake to relax and enjoy the peaceful area versus taking my ATV and polluting Thailand rivers with grease off my ATV, which in itself, is funny as hell.

But he sure posts like a grumpy old coffin dodger. He has replaced SA it appears.

Your only news source I presume...the Guardian.
I thought it was common knowledge that most of the accessible oil in the North Sea has gone; anything else is prohibitively expensive to get at until the oil price becomes ridiculously high.

No oil company is going to throw billions at exploration and production when the cost of getting it to market is higher than the selling price.
