    Into FINNAIR

Nice surprise an unexpected credit to my account today.

First I apologize not in Airline thread I tried the search function, Mods may remove to there.

I cancelled a recent flight from Helsinki , excellent customer service emailed 5 m after we spoke to confirm 100% cash refund, no quibble, no offer of vouchers Thai style LIES.

Customer service estimated expect 2-3 weeks from them with the usual caveat credit card company may delay final transfer back to me. I recall a FIRM in Chicago "sat" on my entitled refund 5 months, after a lawyers letter one week plus an ex gratia extra fee flight, so it does pay to persist if you are 100% in the right and in a jurisdiction where enforceable at a reasonable cost/time frame. WHICH IS BASICALLY FUNCTIONING DEMOCRACIES

I read poor sods who entrusted Thai with hope of flying are waiting years and still unrefunded.
To be fair I've had refunds /declining vouchers from SAS, Emirates, Air France, Alitalia, Nok and Air Asia over the years but usually about 2 billing cycles 2-3 months.

I was content as after my erstwhile employers , Qatar ALASKAN, and Cathay Finnair is one of the few airlines who seem straight and deliver what they say. I recall a 18 month tussle with British Airways explaining why my friend could not speak to them himself or use the flight. He was buried in Toronto , I had paid for his ticket. Small claims and a death cert seemed to seal it. I think they realize some complainants just yield or die.

Well 8 days after , fully refunded., Well done you super efficient Suomi. Not the most luxurious airline in the world but one of the few with regional connections in the Baltic area, Tampere Tallinn etc

Kittos as they say in Finland.

FINNAIR it does what it says on the fin!

Since Norwegiai folded, there are cheaper ways to Oslo if you want 2 days Scooting about via Singapore Berlin and god knows where but via Helsinki good option , here' their Oslo lounge a nice end and a perfect FINNISH.

I think they fish for trolley dolies in same N Europe pool as BA , SAS Finnair seem to get first pick

Rumours that BA used retired Grimbsy fish fillleters are battered. I trust the Russian situation will steer clear of teh Finns they had a good hiding in tthe Winter war for while, SISU means gutsy also the superbly rugged engineered vehicles made at Tavesthus/Hemeenlina for NATO and clearing forests and great folks to work /drink with.

I flew Finnair from London to Bangkok via Helsinki about 25 years ago and it was the most enjoyable trip to BKK I've ever taken - amongst about 30 other possibilities.

It was wintertime and the Finns, many of them with Thai partners, were very much in holiday mode right from the off.

Thanks Cy , due to working years ago the gulf and had employee benefits freebies or frequent flyer deals with Qatar Oman air and Emirates I rarely use them , but when I do they are always worth spending your own money.

Of course from LOS the Gulf is half way to most European capitals breaking flight into 2 even legs.

It is a pleasure to read you in such a complimentary mood .come and have an Absinthe and Vodka sundowner with me one day, I'll be near Talad Yai some time you can read me some John Cooper Clarke while I play the clarinet, always deters Thais, cats and even Mozzies!

I am holding four Thailand-UK vouchers with KLM. Wonder if they will still honour them when I get round to flying again. Been about 2 years now.

Now now dear Helga you well know what SAS stands for note Danmark gates pole position, for our S Hemisphere friends,
Scandinavian Airlines, more commonly known and styled as SAS, is the flag carrier of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.

SAS is an abbreviation of the company's full name, Scandinavian Airlines System or legally Scandinavian Airlines System Denmark-Norway-Sweden. DNS hack?

Are you still sore after the "Camping weak end" with that Swedish katoey MalmoMilf? I'll have Santa's Elves at Finnair send you An US oil as something to cool your pain. As Noqeer Telekons Action Ball Lag say on their eMISSION statement
    No harm an Ollier

    Really ?

Now hiring cheap spanish pilots, which is another broken promise.

I'll question how danish it is.

I have met more brits in Thailand, who claimed they "worked " for SAS, than I can count.

Is that so, In my days at Kastrup as a lowly student wogsdobby there were only 2 Spaniards on the Firefighting staff Jose and his brother Hose B.

I'm sure it's about money perhaps the Swedes bent over and next thing its Oh Fernando Ole McHandbag at the wheel

O dense Juan I was "sore in achuchyard "but went to the isle of Fun where the girls used to middle fart by boat would respond well to a weekend with a fully loaded Amagerikaner sooner than the usual korser men or Lar's Lego Han's Jutlanding gear.
