CORONATION Street legend Johnny Briggs last night denied romping with a Thai hooker.
Briggs, 72, who played factory boss Mike Baldwin in the soap, is reported to have spent the night with the £15-a-time vice girl.

But twice-married Johnny told The Sun: “I just wish it was all true.”

Asked if he had bedded her, he said: “No comment.”

But a few hours earlier, he was reported as saying: “There’s no fool like an old fool.

“It’s my first holiday as a single man and I got carried away with the girls throwing themselves at me. Sorry.”

He is said to have met 33-year-old hooker Yo in a club. Briggs, whose Street character was killed off last year, is on holiday in the Thai town of Pattaya.

That is actually a job if you work for the city council in Sydney.

They don't like the illegal brothels in the suburbs but they can only prosecute and close them down if they can prove that there is sex for sale so a council employee gets paid to to go round and bang one of the girls - not just get her to agree and take the money but actually poke her. There was a minor scandal about public money being used for this.

Don't know what his official job title is. Nice work if you can get it.

Actually, they very recently changed the law so places can now be closed if they are only suspected of operating. I bet that guy was pissed off at getting his transfer to the rates assessment department or wherever.
