How convenient eh ? How perfect. Get the savage sub human Russians in on it too. Hell, lets sanction Russia on this one too. Man are the Americans ever lucky that Iran managed to shoot a civilian aircraft out of the sky on their big day of retaliation.

Iran deliberately hit Apache helicopter hangers on the sprawling US base because that is what was used to kill their general. So that the attack would qualify under section 52 of the UN code on retaliation. And that's what they did. They also filed the necessary paperwork with the UN for this counter attack.

But oh hey there's a civilian airliner. One of our highly accurate missiles went and hit that !
