'A deep and boiling anger': NBC/WSJ poll finds a pessimistic America despite current economic satisfaction

A new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll finds that 70 percent of Americans say they're angry at the political establishment

WASHINGTON — The political and cultural upheaval of the last four years has divided the country on ever-hardening partisan and generational lines, but one feeling unites Americans as much as it did before the 2016 election.

They’re still angry. And still unsettled about the future.

The latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll finds that — despite Americans’ overall satisfaction with the state of the U.S. economy and their own personal finances — a majority say they are angry at the nation’s political and financial establishment, anxious about its economic future, and pessimistic about the country they’re leaving for the next generation.

“Four years ago, we uncovered a deep and boiling anger across the country engulfing our political system,” said Democratic pollster Jeff Horwitt of Hart Research Associates, which conducted this survey in partnership with the Republican firm Public Opinion Strategies. “Four years later, with a very different political leader in place, that anger remains at the same level.”

The poll finds that 70 percent of Americans say they feel angry “because our political system seems to only be working for the insiders with money and power, like those on Wall Street or in Washington.” Forty-three percent say that statement describes them "very well."

Mods and admin can you please have Klondyke start these threads using the original headline? His attempts at making the title on his own are confusing and look silly up in print. Thanks.

    For the mod's whisperer:
I am sorry if you do not understand something, you can ask, there are here many who always has a clue.

BTW, here is a forum, not just a copy factory. The members are free to express their views, not only their vulgarities ad hominem.

As a matter of fact, with the pure Ctr+C, Ctr+V, the authors of the article and the web owners would not be always happy, a copying is what some here hate at the Chinkies, isn't it?

Mate, I used to post a lot of News Items and I'll freely admit that I used to change the article's title to more closely reflect the essence or the salient point to more closely reflect why I was posting it ... seemed logical to me.

I was (very politely) informed that, in the News Forums, you don't change the News Article's title.

Other parts of the Forum are more relaxed.

    Klondyke, just trying to help.

Nitpicking of trivial and petty variety, when all around them the forum is falling with increased and heated bickering, personal and familial insults, blatant stalking, childish oneupmanship, lack of intelligence, trolling, etc.
Why not use one's anxious vacancy to chase and critique those much more debilitating aspects of the forum - if one feels the need purify the forum.
Old cantankerous and pitiful old man that has little else.

The growing cognitive dissonance that is TD.

hmm... 70%'s a tad bit light, I'd figure it be in the 90 percentile. Of course maybe there's 30% who just don't care. Or, have far bigger problems on their plate than our mickey mouse monkey house dysfunctional political system.

    Already changed (not by me)...
So, should it be given in the Speakers Corner? What's the difference?
Anyway, it seems, the rules of the purity are applied depending on the matter (inconvenient/convenient)...
