Literally never said that, ever. There are already federal laws that prohibit people from buying firearms with mental health problems. This wouldn't have stopped this guy.

The problem I have is in the details, and the overall objective of the legislators to write these laws. Sorry, but no, doctors do not get to dictate who can own a firearm. The way the law is written it would be like saying people should have a mental health check to vote or exercise free speech. If people don't like it, then change the amendment. Im 100% down with that. Go through the process. But don't infringe and call people racists to get what you want because you cant get it done the right way.
