Not a bad tax free screw if you're living in Lahore and the extended family has ten of these flats on the go, for no other outlay than time served on a housing list

My own GP was mugged on that estate doing a house call. I used to swim at the leisure centre. The estate is dangerous and awash with drugs

The media has done a stellar job of focusing on the respectable community. The reality is cery different

Nice to get the real picture from somebody who knows the dump. Media claimed 500, then 600 residents which seems high for 120 2 bed units. Illegal letting used to be rife in my old town, council too gutless to do anything about it for obvious reasons, and you can bet a lot in those flats were claiming single occupancy for council tax reasons. Might never know how many were living there.

from that plan post 81- (assuming no more thread butchery)
there was 6 flats per floor and 2 were 1 bedroom
so altogether there were 40 one bedroom and 80 two bedroom
200 bedrooms in total for 500 or 600 residents

Some of those flats were privately owned and rented out for £400 a week
(I posted a link and photos yesterday, but the moderator removed them ..)
the council ones probably cost £100 a week
A huge saving, the reason the councils only let them to immigrants is to piss the British people off.
If they complain call them racists..
And also one of the reasons London is now so full of immigrants..

Now all these homeless people have to be rehoused.
Word is they are going to the North East of England on full relocation packages.

Indeed, there were two young Italians living there who are missing, I believe. Both new to London and working there. Obviously sub-let illegally by the tenant.

These tower blocks proliferate everywhere in London and are all mostly inhabited by the more recent immigrant 'waves'. Peckham North End was the quintessential estate and about as far removed from the Fools and Horses fantasy as you could get.

As they get more established and aspirations extend to greater horizons, they eventually disperse to better accommodation leaving the social housing for the next wave. Normal really but the increasing gentrification in conjunction with ever increasing costs of living mean that pretty soon no fucker who needs to earn a living can afford to actually live in London.
