Terror attacks being foiled 'every single day' in France

Terror attacks being foiled 'every single day' in France, prime minister says

    12 September 2016

A radicalized French teenager had been planning to carry out a knife attack at a popular weekend spot for families and tourists, investigators said.
The 15-year-old, already on a high-security threat list, was arrested on Saturday, one week after French police prevented an attack in central Paris by a group of female Islamic State followers who tried to blow up a car filled with gas bottles.
French Prime Minister Manuel Valls warned on Sunday that the terrorist threat was at its “maximum” level and said France’s security forces were “foiling attacks every single day.”
The unnamed youth was arrested at his home near the Coulée Verte, a “green corridor” walkway in Paris similar to New York’s High Line, where detectives allege he was planning to stab random passers-by last weekend.
Detectives told French media the youth admitted he wanted to be killed by the police and “die a martyr.” However, one officer told L’Express magazine that his evidence was “confused” and he was later said to have withdrawn his statements.
The teenager had already been under house arrest at his family home in the 12th arrondissement of the French capital for the last five months, as part of the state of emergency introduced in France following the November 2015 attacks. He was detained in April 2016 and questioned about alleged plans to travel to join Islamic State in Syria.
Police reported that he had been in contact with Rachid Kassim, a French jihadi who is fighting with Islamic State in Syria. Kassim has also been linked to the killer of two police officers in a Paris suburb in June and two men who cut the throat of a Catholic priest in Normandy in July. In both cases, the terrorists were killed by police.
Investigators are attempting to unravel the network around Kassim, whose members communicated using the heavily encrypted message system Telegram. They believe Kassim, who uses the pseudonym Ibn Qassim, has been directing the recent terror attack attempts in France from his Islamic State hideout in Syria.
“The women, our sisters, went into action. Where are our brothers?” Kassim posted on Telegram after the women were arrested last week, according to French media. “Where are the men?…You have to understand that if these women went into action, it’s because so few men are doing anything … why are you waiting so long to the point the woman are overtaking you in terms of honor?”
Five French women between 16 and 39 are in police custody being questioned about the latest terrorist plots. One, Ornella Gilligmann, 29, a mother of three young children, has been charged over the failed attack near Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris on Sept. 3. Gilligmann was also known to French intelligence services after allegedly trying to travel to Syria.
Gilligmann was arrested after her fingerprints were found in an abandoned Peugeot 607 car containing five gas cylinders, three bottles of diesel and a lighted cigarette 300 feet from the busy cathedral courtyard. The car’s license plates had been removed and it was parked with its emergency lights flashing. Two women fled the scene after failing to set the car alight.
On Thursday last week, police arrested three more women: Ines Madani, whose father owned the Peugeot, and two others named only as Sarah H, age 23, and Amel S, age 39. The 16-year-old daughter of Amel S was arrested later.
French public prosecutor Francois Molins said in a televised news conference last week that the women were “determined.” He said Sarah H had been engaged to Larossi Abballa, 25, who killed a police commander and his partner, also a police officer, in front of their infant son in June. After Abballa was killed in that attack, she became engaged to Adel Kermiche, 19 — before he was also shot dead while participating in the killing of a priest in Normandy a month later.
The three women were confronted by police as they left a flat in the suburbs of Paris, allegedly on their way to carry out another attack at the Gare de Lyon station. During the arrest, one of the women stabbed a police officer with a kitchen knife. Madani allegedly jumped on another and tried to stab him. In Madani’s handbag, detectives say they found the keys to the Peugeot 607 and a note pledging allegiance to Islamic State.
On Sunday, French Prime Minister Manuel Valls said the threat of a terrorist attack remained “maximum.”
“We have seen this the last few days, the last few hours, and even as I speak,” Valls said in a televised interview.
“Every day, the intelligence services, the police, gendarmes, are foiling attacks, unraveling Iraqi-Syrian networks. The threat today is maximum and we are a target, everyone understands that.”
Valls said 700 French jihadis were believed to be fighting with Islamic State in Syria, among them more than 200 women. French intelligence services were watching 15,000 people suspected of being radicalized.

What i don't understand with all this, why are women being drawn into this.

Being treated like shite, raped, forced marriages etc. Even well educated women? Women have fought against oppression for so long, and these women are jumping into it with their kids. They are not real women, they are robots.

There was a pic in the press last week of a little boy - blond hair blue eyes shooting a man in the back of the head. He is, supposedly the son of a British woman.

Sick. How can these women, who must read the press and see for themselves the hardships facing them choose to go there. Especially the ones who lived priviledged lives.

    I don't get it.

Three Syrians arrested in Germany 'linked to Paris attackers'

    13.09.2016

The German interior minister has said that three suspected members of IS arrested in Germany are linked to the group that carried out the Paris attacks in 2015. The suspects have been known to authorities for months.

German Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere delivered a statement on Tuesday regarding the arrest of three suspected members of the so-called "Islamic State" ("IS"), saying the suspects had links to the group that carried out the November 2015 terror attacks in Paris.
Specifically, de Maiziere said the three suspects arrested in Germany on Tuesday were smuggled out of Syria by the same smuggling organization used by members of the Paris group.
A statement from Germany's Federal Public Prosecutor's office on Tuesday said that federal police and agents from Germany's GSG 9 special operations unit were involved in pre-dawn raids against the suspects.
The three men arrested in the raids have been identified as Syrian nationals. The prosecutor's office listed their names as Mahir Al-H. (17), Mohamed A. (26), and Ibrahim M. (18). The full names of criminal suspects in Germany are usually not released by officials in line with the country's privacy laws.
According to the investigation so far, the three came to Germany in November 2015, with the intention of "carrying out a previously determined order [from IS] or to await further instructions."
De Maiziere said the three "could have been a sleeper cell."
Mahir Al-H. is believed to have received training from IS in Raqqa, Syria on how to use weapons and explosives in September 2015. One month later, he and the other two suspects are believed to have agreed on a plan to travel to Europe to carry out operations or attacks outside of IS-controlled areas.
For the purposes of their travel, prosecutors say they were given passports by IS along with cash in US dollars "in a high four-figure sum" and mobile phones pre-loaded with a communications program. The suspects came to Germany from Syria through Turkey and Greece, the statement said.
De Maiziere said that the documents possessed by the three suspects in Germany came from the same workshop where the documents for the Paris attackers were made.
The prosecutor's office added that the investigation had not yet uncovered any concrete orders or instructions for attacks that had been given to the suspects.
The suspects were arrested in raids carried out in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein, where the suspects' residences were also searched.
Over 200 officers from the German Federal Criminal Police Office, the national police force and Schleswig-Holstein state police were involved in the operation.
According to the BKA, authorities have received 415 leads on refugees with a terrorist background, but most have proven to be unfounded. Sixty-three investigative proceedings have been launched based on the information the BKA has received.

France foiling terror plots 'daily' - Prime Minister Manuel Valls

    11.09.2016

The French prime minister has said the country's security services are foiling terror plots and dismantling militant networks "every day".
Manuel Valls said about 15,000 people were being monitored for radicalisation as the country continues its drive against jihadist militants.
Previously the authorities said about 10,000 were identified as high-risk.
A boy of 15 was arrested at his home in Paris on Saturday on suspicion of planning an attack over the weekend.

It may not mean actual arrests, just means the cops are on the case daily.

Must say I'm impressed that the Euro-intel services seem to be so efficient, assuming those figures are accurate which is unlikely. Not that they will catch more than a few of the imported and indigenous 'radicals' since this can only be done effectively only after they are committed, only after enough evidence is gathered for arrest, prosecution and conviction, and preferably before execution. Even so, at this rate the judiciary and penal systems will soon be overloaded, though I guess that's better than closing city centres to clear up the debris.

As I said before to deaf ears, catch a jihadist before he commits and he bleeds your resources for the rest of his life; miss him and people die. Either way, his very existence is something to fear.

Islam is patient, and there is no solution that westerners will easily adjust to.

Both sides are running out of patience and both sides need to adjust.

Each year, I look so forward to Eid Al Adha – the holiest holiday for Muslims worldwide – but not this year. As I watched my daughters prepare for the celebrations with joy, I learned of a horrific crime. A 36-year-old woman dressed in traditional garb was set on fire on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. She was the same age as me, walking in the city where I was born and raised. This comes at the heels of two Muslim women in Brooklyn who were physically assaulted by a woman as they pushed their babies in strollers.

I don't see either side running out of patience, and it certainly won't be Islam that 'adjusts'.

Still, if you see an attack on three Muslimas in NYCity as compelling evidence that the infidel is nearing the end of his tether, the while shutting your eyes to ignore what is happening around the world, then I must congratulate you on such wishful optimism; indeed, well done.

I will be staying in an hotel in Paris in just under three weeks time. It is situated less than 500 metres from the Bataclan and less than 700 metres from the offices of Charlie Hebdo. The spot where the policeman was brutally murdered with a headshot is less than 300 metres away. Apparently tourist numbers have declined to a worrying extent in Paris.

It is essential that we do not allow the terrorists to tell us what to do. I will be vigilant but I will not give in to the evil bastards.

French police arrest (again) teenager over 'IS terror plot'

    14.09.2016

French police have arrested a 15-year-old boy suspected of plotting to carry out terror attacks in the country.
The teenager was detained in Paris and is believed to have links with a French member of so-called Islamic State (IS), Rashid Kassim.
Investigators say the boy was under surveillance since April and had contacted IS through social media.
Another boy, also 15 and also suspected of links to Kassim, was arrested in Paris on Saturday.
Kassim targets vulnerable youngsters through their mobile phones.

French officials say he is a key instigator who uses encrypted forums to direct recruits on how and where to carry out attacks in Europe.
French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said the arrests were part of efforts to pinpoint vulnerable citizens in France who have been targeted with "calls to carry out killings, led by a certain number of actors in Syria".
The arrests this week follow the detention of three women, including a 19-year-old, who had allegedly wanted to attack a Paris railway station using a car laden with gas cylinders.
Kassim, who has appeared in propaganda videos in Iraq or Syria, is thought to have planned at least four terror attacks in France since June.

    Who is Rashid Kassim?

An amateur rapper and youth leader from Roanne, north-east of France's second city Lyon, Rashid Kassim is thought to have been radicalised either over the internet or on a trip to Algeria in 2011.
He fell out with his local Muslim community and left France with his wife and three children for Egypt the following year. Little was known of him until he appeared in a brutal IS propaganda video after the Bastille Day lorry attack on Nice in July.
In the video, he murders two Syrian prisoners and threatens similar attacks on the streets of France by French citizens. Also known as Ibn Qassim, his focus is recruiting young French would-be jihadists, using social media and chat groups.
He has urged his 300 followers on Telegram to carry out what prosecutors term "terrorisme de proximite" (local terrorism).
Who is French jihadist Rashid Kassim?
French Prime Minister Manuel Valls has said the country's security services are foiling terror plots and dismantling militant networks "every day".He said about 15,000 people were being monitored for radicalisation.
France has been under a state of emergency since IS attacks on Paris in November killed 130 people in what President Francois Hollande called an "act of war".
