Horror as murdered gay cop Gordon Semple was chopped up, put in acid bath, cooked & chucked in the Thames
THE dismembered body of missing gay cop Gordon Semple was found dissolving in a bath of acid, it emerged last night.
Body parts were dumped in the River Thames and attempts were also made to boil his flesh away in pans.
Grim details about the 59-year-old Met PC’s death emerged as police continued to question 49-year-old Italian Stefano Brizzi on suspicion of murder.
Cops were still searching the Thames for missing parts of Gordon’s body suspected to have been dumped in the water.
One of his severed feet was found by a member of the public on the south side of the river at 11am yesterday.
Police also took away cooking pans from murder suspect Brizzi’s flat, which are suspected to have been used to try to boil down human flesh.
There was no sign of cannibalism but the case is reminiscent of gay serial killer Dennis Nilsen, who boiled his dead victims.
Like many of Nilsen’s victims, Gordon died after venturing into London’s gay dating scene.
He is said to have met Brizzi on a gay dating website and gone to his flat in Southwark, South London, a week ago yesterday.
Brizzi is suspected of killing Gordon in a dispute.
He then allegedly borrowed the acid idea to get rid of the body from US TV crime hit Breaking Bad, one of his favourite shows.
When that was unsuccessful, the corpse was chopped up and dumped in the nearby Thames.
Brizzi was arrested on Thursday when police were called to the Peabody Estate after neighbours complained of the smell.
Scaffolder Martin Harris, 49, said he had confronted a man wearing blue Speedos about the stench at the flat and was told by him: “I’m cooking for a friend.”
Martin, whose brother Stephen lives in the block, said: “My brother called and said, ‘There’s a bad stench so come round because you’ve already found a dead body once.’
“I went round there and you could smell it, it stank. The guy who answered the door was of slim build, had black hair, a pair of glasses and was wearing a pair of Speedos. I said, ‘Look mate, it f*****g stinks. What’s going on?’
“He said, ‘Oh no, I’m cooking for a friend.’ I said the police are on their way. He said okay and shut the door.”
Cops reeled in horror when they got there.
A source said: “Gordon’s body had been placed in a bath of acid. But that did not do the job and so an effort was made to boil parts away on the cooker.” Gordon, who lived with partner Gary Meeks, in Greenhithe, Kent, was attached to a Westminster Council anti-social behaviour unit.
He was last seen on April 1 on CCTV close to Brizzi’s flat.
Met Commander Alison Newcomb said: “It will take some time for cause of death to be established.”
Scotland-born Gordon’s family were last night coming to terms with his murder. Brother Ronnie said: “It has been a terrible time for us all, especially
