Chinese Passenger Drinks Whole Bottle Of Cognac In Airport Row

A Chinese plane passenger who was told she could not carry a $190 (£120) bottle of cognac on board downed it all rather than let it go to waste - and was then deemed unfit to fly.

The woman had bought the Remy Martin XO Excellence in the US and then tried to take it on board an internal flight from Beijing to Wenzhou. But the 700ml bottle was far above the 100ml that security laws allow.

She became hugely drunk and was forced to sleep it off at Beijing airport. The incident occurred at Beijing Capital International Airport last Friday.

The passenger, identified only by her surname Zhou, downed the bottle at about midday after being informed she could not take it on board. She began to shout incoherently, then fell over and started rolling around the floor. Security intervened.

One airport officer told the South China Morning Post: "She was so drunk… she couldn't even stand up. We took her to a room in a wheelchair so she could rest."

She was denied entry on to the plane and was given medical care. The woman then slept and reportedly did not sober up until about 19:00. She was released by police to family members who came to pick her up. One report said she thanked police for helping her.

that effort should be worth good points

everyone wants to drink the alcohol rather than let the security people steal it

Kind of "in the middle;" she was hiso enough to afford the travel and get good treatment from the cops, but not hiso enough to bring anything she damn well pleased onto the airplane.

So, I'm not sure I understand this: she was allowed to take the bottle on an international flight from the US to China (presumably she bought it duty free departure side in the US), but when transferring onto an internal flight the fukers tried to nick it off her. She did the right thing to stand her ground; typical example of jobsworth here; she should have just been allowed to take the bloody bottle home...
    Cycling should be banned!!!

They used to try that on in Indonesia before 9/11. Bringing too much from Singapore. If stopped my mate Steve used to accidentally drop it on the tiled floor when handing it over.

My boss opened and poured a bottle of Grange into an airport bin, rather than let them bastards keep it. (he had two, and was told her had to leave one behind)

they do the same to you at darwin airport when you arrive from singapore enroute to cairns on crapstar

they take the alcohol that you have bought duty free in singapore and you pass through the overpriced darwin duty free to the transfer lounge and then back to board the plane
If you torture data for enough time , you can get it to say what you want.

I was under the impression the sealed bags that Duty Free are now packed in were to allow transfer to an internal flight without breaking the 100ml liquid allowance.

When I am not sure if the rule will be upheld for Duty Free I don't have the bags forwarded to the next plane...then move the stuff to the main bags.

Come on KW, I hate my government but keeping weapons and possibly flammable liquids off airplanes is a legitimate function of government. The liquid restrictions came about because some Muslim asshole found a way to assemble a bomb on an airplane from innocent looking parts, one of which was a bottle that looked like contact lens solution.

I fly in and out of the US twice a year and have never been mistreated by the TSA or airport security in any other country.

We recently travelled from my city in China to HK airport, to BK, changed to a domestic flight to Phuket and somehow despite my telling her not to the wife bought along all the way from a store downstairs to our hotel a 2 litre bottle of water and a bunch of milk tetra packs for the kids.

Maybe she could've poured it into a 2L bottle of IRN BRU before getting to that airport?

I'm surprised downing a litre of pop didn't give her liver failure!

Just goes to show money doesn't equal class (as the Chinamen/women/creatures keep on proving to the world, day in and day out).
